In this case, you simply have no concept what you're talking about. This is why modern revelation is so essential, for the scriptures are not for personal interpretation.

"Paradise" is not heaven. Rather, it is a place where spirits go to await final judgement. How "Chri$tian$" can simultaneously believe in the day of Judgement, and in "instant judgement" (as in the thief on the cross) is but another example of the mass of confusion you're forced to swallow because of hundreds of years of benighted orthodoxy.

In short, Christ NEVER told the thief that He was to have "eternal life" (that is, life eternal in the place were His Father dwells) but that he would be with Christ in the place of the Spirits, when "also he went and preached unto the spirits in prison;" (Chri$tian$ ignore that scripture; they can't understand it, so they resort to the subset of the Bible called their silly "orthodoxy") "...Which sometime were disobedient, when once the longsuffering of God waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was a preparing, wherein few, that is, eight souls were saved by water." [1 Peter 3:19-20).

In short it isn't that Christ was a liar, but that you and most of the rest of Chri$tendom don't have the foggiest notion what you're talking about.

Sometimes ignorance is bliss. In your case and the case of millions of other darkened minds, it is hell.

I think the Lord only expects 10%; a "tithe" as it were.

Here you go again, calling Christ "a liar" when He said "Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in Heaven is perfect." [Matt. 5:48]

Ah, but I know that Chri$tians will say that you only have to be "perfect" the last few seconds of your life.

What darkened minds. It staggers the imagination.

Amazing how little YOU know that "Mormons" believe.

In the case of your sermon, the thought is correct.

In the case of official Chri$tendom, however, you can sit at home reading a porn magazine, but SAY that you're going to go down to the water "real soon now."

When the heart attack strikes, you can state out loud that you had every intention of going to the beach, but this darn ol' death thing has interrupted you.

Then you'll be with the Lord in "Paradise" (wherever that is; you people certainly don't have a clue).

Are you willing to follow Jesus wherever he leads you -- even if he leads you out of the LDS Church?

You've already demonstrated that you are unwilling to follow him. Some flashy Chri$tian minister, perhaps, with gold rings on his fingers and his own TV station, but not Christ.

If you were willing to follow him, the last thing you'd be doing is persecuting His Church.

I PROMISE, I will try hard NOT to laugh on that day! I really will! (I am sure thankful that repentence is possible!)

Keep this in mind, I had the same testimony of the truthfulness of the LDS Church that you have. But the Jesus that saved me from my sins led me away from the LDS Church.

It appears to me that your hope and faith is in the LDS Church and not in Christ.I have to laugh at this. Here I sit in the armpit of Chri$tianity, with three "Megachurches" within five miles of me, prominently displaying the name of their learned, vaunted pastors (who are local celebrities who live the lives of the modern American celebrity), and you have the twittitude to preach to US about "following a Church instead of Christ"?

You are your own parody.

Salvation, Illbay, is not to be found in a Church. Any church. Not mine. Not yours. Not Dr Steve's, not Wrigley's. It is to be found in trusting and believing in the ONE TRUE GOD and Jesus Christ whom he has sent.

It is clear from your posts and those of your LDS buddies that you have placed your faith and trust in the visions of Joseph Smith and in the institution of the LDS Church and you have no true desire to follow the Christ who is revealed in scripture. If there is a contradiction between what the LDS Church teaches and what the scriptures reveal about Jesus, you will follow the teachings of your present church authorities without question.

I find it most telling that you will not answer the question I have posed. Why is that?

I have stated that as a matter of fact the Jesus that saved my soul and the Jesus that I worship led me away from the LDS Church and has revealed to me that the LDS Church teaches blasphemy.

Now can any of you guys answer a "yes or no" question? Here it is: In light of the facts stated above, do you and I believe in the same Jesus?

All one has to do who makes Covenants with the Lord is to Keep His Commandments,
to do the best we can and the Lord will Cover the differents!

Galatians 4:21-31
 21.  Tell me, you who want to be under the law, are you not aware of what the law says?
 22.  For it is written that Abraham had two sons, one by the slave woman and the other by the free woman.
 23.  His son by the slave woman was born in the ordinary way; but his son by the free woman was born as the result of a promise.
 24.  These things may be taken figuratively, for the women represent two covenants. One covenant is from Mount Sinai and bears children who are to be slaves: This is Hagar.
 25.  Now Hagar stands for Mount Sinai in Arabia and corresponds to the present city of Jerusalem, because she is in slavery with her children.
 26.  But the Jerusalem that is above is free, and she is our mother.
 27.  For it is written: "Be glad, O barren woman, who bears no children; break forth and cry aloud, you who have no labor pains; because more are the children of the desolate woman than of her who has a husband."
 28.  Now you, brothers, like Isaac, are children of promise.
 29.  At that time the son born in the ordinary way persecuted the son born by the power of the Spirit. It is the same now.
 30.  But what does the Scripture say? "Get rid of the slave woman and her son, for the slave woman's son will never share in the inheritance with the free woman's son."
 31.  Therefore, brothers, we are not children of the slave woman, but of the free woman.

Hebrews 7:18-19
 18.  The former regulation is set aside because it was weak and useless
 19.  (for the law made nothing perfect), and a better hope is introduced, by which we draw near to God.

Hebrews 8:6-13
 6.  But the ministry Jesus has received is as superior to theirs as the covenant of which he is mediator is superior to the old one, and it is founded on better promises.
 7.  For if there had been nothing wrong with that first covenant, no place would have been sought for another.
 8.  But God found fault with the people and said : "The time is coming, declares the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah.
 9.  It will not be like the covenant I made with their forefathers when I took them by the hand to lead them out of Egypt, because they did not remain faithful to my covenant, and I turned away from them,  declares the Lord.
 10.  This is the covenant I will make with the house of Israel after that time, declares the Lord. I will put my laws in their minds and write them on their hearts. I will be their God, and they will be my people.
 11.  No longer will a man teach his neighbor, or a man his brother, saying, `Know the Lord,' because they will all know me, from the least of them to the greatest.
 12.  For I will forgive their wickedness and will remember their sins no more."
 13.  By calling this covenant "new," he has made the first one obsolete; and what is obsolete and aging will soon disappear. That is if you are NOT a member of the LDS organization.  The OLD Law, the one that brings DEATH*, is STILL in force there.

*2 Corinthians 3:3-17
3. You show that you are a letter from Christ, the result of our ministry, written not with ink but with the Spirit of the living God, not on tablets of stone but on tablets of human hearts.
4. Such confidence as this is ours through Christ before God.
5. Not that we are competent in ourselves to claim anything for ourselves, but our competence comes from God.
6. He has made us competent as ministers of a new covenant-- not of the letter but of the Spirit; for the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life.
7. Now if the ministry that brought death, which was engraved in letters on stone, came with glory, so that the Israelites could not look steadily at the face of Moses because of its glory, fading though it was,
8. will not the ministry of the Spirit be even more glorious?
9. If the ministry that condemns men is glorious, how much more glorious is the ministry that brings righteousness!

If you won't believe these words, but WILL believe something else, what does that mean?

Ok, let's get out the financial records and we'll divide the cost of the buildings by the number of attenders to see how much per person was spent, if YOUR organization will do the same for your fabulous Temples!

Keep clinging to that false hope of Mormonism and you will only see the perfection of the Lord (Revelation 14:10), you will never enjoy experiencing the perfection of the Lord (Hebrews 10:14).

And he also said "if ye love me, keep my commandments."

Swallowing the Chri$tian lie means ignoring SOME things Christ wrote in favor of others.

And FWIW, those who profess Christ AND seek to keep His commandments, including the dictum to "be perfect" (meaning as perfect as we are able to be given our level of knowledge) are able to have eternal life, which is life EXACTLY LIKE our Father has.

In that case, the LDS knowledge does not discard faith, but realizes that faith is NOTHING (that is, "dead," as James states) without the effort to obey the commandments.

Go ahead, pick and choose. In most cases, you will have the opportunity for enlightenment at some future time. But those who fight against God, as the "Chri$tian$" that infest these threads, will suffer for their own sins. God will NOT be mocked, by you or any other.

I can't figure out if you're just innocently blind, or if you are one of the wolves in sheeps' clothing the Savior warned us of.

Not having His wisdom, I cannot judge. But if the former, I pray you will someday gain the wisdom you obviously lack.

If the latter...as I've said, in my weakness I VOW not to laugh at the expression on your face on that day. I will try SO HARD.

Bill this would be funny if it was not so sad...You have a "prophet" you treat like a pope..Bet he flys in a "church owned "jet (or at least with all expensed paid.).bet there are tons of none "taxable" perks " with the job..and to go one more step you have one "minister" (prophet) that you can not get into heaven without ...

Open your eyes man.. these LDS prophets get plenty of "perks" ..lots more than a pathetic Christian Pastor 's salary....

MOST Christian Pastors are bi vocational or are paid so little they could not afford to visit Salt Lake city
