Do babies go to Heaven?
Posted on 12/29/2002 9:23:52 PM PST by PFKEY
Hope no one minds the vanity too much.
I was thinking last night about this idea and was trying to make it jive somewhat with the notion of predeterminationalism if that is the correct word.
Also was curious regarding what the various Christian denominations taught on this subject.

To: ReformedBeckite This is the silliest damn thing I've ever read on the religion forum. You have no credibility, as a Christian or as a human being. 30 posted on 12/31/2002 11:55 AM PST by sinkspur To: ReformedBeckite Obviously you are a disruptor or deranged, which, in fact, is the same thing. Elect infants go to heaven. Non-elect infants do not.
It isn't rocket science, nor a difficult issue. This is probably the most philosophically discussed issue of religion, yet with the easiest answer.

For the foolishness of God is wiser than human wisdom, and the weakness of God is stronger than human strength. True or false? V's wife.True. (GREAT irresistible grace passage, by the way).
Now, then, returning to my question:
The wicked are estranged from the womb: they go astray as soon as they be born, speaking lies.
True, or False?

Just a point of information....
Those that believe in election do not believe only 144,000 will be saved.
That sort of nonsense is left to the cults like the JW's.

I trust the Righteous Judge to know best the eternal whereabouts of those who die before an age of awareness/decision.
All too often the non-believer gets sucked into these discussions. It allows them to avoid the question of their own response to Jesus, while they ponder the eternity of babies and the Watutsi who hasn't heard.

And babies are innocent before a perfect and holy God?
To: Jael
OOoh.....oh my you sure come up with some convincing arguments.

I trust the Righteous Judge to know best the eternal whereabouts of those who die before an age of awareness/decision. We agree...The God of Heaven NEVER judges unfairly...the scripture says "ALL men are without excuse" that includes those minutes old..and He that is Just will judge rightly!

BTW, Revelation says names were written.....and NOT WRITTEN in the book of life from the beginning of time. Clearly, God did not just prepare hell for the devil and his angels.
To: Jael
1 Tim 4:10 For therefore we both labour and suffer reproach, because we trust in the living God, who is the Saviour of ALL men, specially of those that believe.
Did you catch that last part? Ever heard of common grace? That is all the verse is talking about. Besides, if Jesus is the SAVIOR of all men, everyone is saved. That language does not simply imply that Jesus died so they could be saved....it indicates they ARE saved if you take the interpretation that it goes against Calvinism.
To: Jael
BTW, that song is false and Vance is a liar and false minister of the Gospel.
To: Jael
Oh, so you are one of those KJV-only kooks. Well, I guess I know to avoid you in the future since you are simply a heretic.

Yep, we humans do mightily well in our ability to choose....
"The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked; who can know it?" Jeremiah 17:9
"The man without the Spirit does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him, and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually discerned." 1 Corinthians 2:14
"Behold, I was brought forth in iniquity, and in sin my mother conceived me." Psalm 51:5
"There is none who understands, there is none who seeks for God." Romans 3:11
"...Every inclination of his (man's) heart is evil from childhood." Genesis 8:21
"As for you, you were dead in your transgressions and sins." Ephesians 2:1

We would agree with that Jael..but would ask who will come? We say only those drawn by the Father.
John 12:32 And I, if I be lifted up from the earth,
will draw all men unto me.
~Jesus
Acts 1:8 But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.
9 And when he had spoken these things, while they beheld, he was taken up; and a cloud received him out of their sight.
10 And while they looked stedfastly toward heaven as he went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel;
11 Which also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven.
Romans 5:18 Therefore as by the offence of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation;
even so by the righteousness of one the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life.
1 Timothy 2:1 ¶I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men;
2 For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.
3 For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour;
4 Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.
5 For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;
6 Who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time.
Do all men believe? No. Does Christ offer the same salvation to all men? Yes.
John 3:19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.
John 15:22 If I had not come and spoken unto them, they had not had sin: but now they have no cloke for their sin.

Jael sounds surprising like another poster on this forum who because of his silly theology was being ignored by most other discerning posters. Could it be he changed his screenname so that people would respond to him?
To: Jael
Jael if ALL (meaning all of every kind and sort) are drawn is God hapless and unable to do as He wills?
