Do babies go to Heaven?

Posted on 12/29/2002 9:23:52 PM PST by PFKEY

Hope no one minds the vanity too much.

I was thinking last night about this idea and was trying to make it jive somewhat with the notion of predeterminationalism if that is the correct word.

Also was curious regarding what the various Christian denominations taught on this subject.

Well my position is that both are right in how they understand the Word on whatever spiritual level they are on, if they do indeed study and pray. I have doubts about some of them, since they seem to spend every waking minute on line. There are levels of understanding in the Word and only sincere effort gets you up the ladder. I believe in God's Grace but He doesn't a;ways bestow understanding while you play video games and waste your precious time I don't believe.

Unless you can "all" come to some "common" agreement of "any" particular passage, why should I listen to you? The Holy Spirit does not preach confusion.

It was a good joke at the time....maybe David Letterman could do it today....despite the PC.

I'm not sure Americans who have no idea where Afghanistan is on the world map would "get" it, though.

Just a question. If the Divine Holy Spirit of the Most High indwells both the Armenian and the Calvinist, why does God allow both arguments to continue? Why hasn't the Holy Spirit worked in the hearts of the group that is in error and revealed to them their error? I mean we are talking about a basic doctrine of Salvation. Surely God desires that mankind be clear about this, so why the silence of the Spirit? 377 posted on 01/02/2003 11:09 AM PST by kcfathero4

Why would one believe that the Spirit has been silent?

The Reformation was not "silent"... it was either the greatest move of the Holy Spirit since the days of the Apostles, or it was an earth-shattering Satanic error. But it was one or the other. And the Reformation was largely a Predestinarian reaction against the Self-Election dogma of "salvation" (what we now call "arminian") which had become nearly dominant in Rome by that time.

Of course, this certainly does not mean that all Arminians or Romans are Unsaved; but it does mean that in fighting against the Holy Spirit's work in the Reformation, they're fighting on the wrong side of the battle!!

If God INTENDS to save a pigmy, He will send him a missionary.

Or a dream, or a Bible, or an internet with RnMom's posts. 8~)

We were all pigmies once.

God never fails.

Amen.

What about the sincere pastors/believers of both theologies. Bit tough to just label one group as "lower on the ladder" when sincere men/women of faith and diligent study are on both sides.
Just puzzling that the holders of the false theology are
never( seldom) convicted of their error by the Holy Spirit.
Either one or neither is correct, yet if the Spirit of God is not concerned enough to correct sincere believers of the wrongness of their belief, why have this discussion?

The need something like beano for bp & cholesterol. Rather than forego good food, you eat it and then drop atomics on it in the form of a pill that renders it helpless. LOL!!

Who is in error? Both quote the Bible in defense of their theology, yet obviously some here have read more and understood deeper than others. The Word is not wrong, yet oftentimes It appears contradictory to us. The fault lies with us, not the Word. As to pastors, some understand nothing, but so what? If they faithfully preach the Word, It will reach the intended ears. That's their job.
When they quote manmade ideas then the trouble begins. So many times the argument here is "my man vs your man", not the Gospel.

Isn't the person who works against this "great" movement grieving the Holy Spirit? The Armenian Pastor, standing in the pulpit preaching that gospel, would be going against
the Word of God, if I understand your point.
Why are they not convicted of their error? In this instance, either the indwelling Holy Spirit is silent in their life, or they are knowingly teaching error.

Wherever the Truth, the Word of God is faithfully preached, the Spirit is speaking, and it goes on 24 hours a day, It never is silent.

2 + 2 was declared to = 4 at the first Council of Math, however the Council of Math II (aka New Math) declared this to be true except in extraordinary circumstances.

New Math allows 2 + 2 = 3 when evangelizing separated brethren like Jael. It also allows the Pope to kiss other non base 10 Math books.
