You quoted Rev 22:16 where Jesus was speaking. Here's Jesus speaking just 3 verses earlier:
I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End.
The Bible tells us that Jesus was
not created.

I corrected my choice of word created earlier, in my explaination of Spirit!
I also made a point that JESUS IS THE ONLY "BEGOTTEN SON OF GOD!"
The rest of us spirit children continue our process through Adam & Eve.
Jesus was begotten by the Heavenly Father when Jesus was born on earth!
off to work!

Awwwww Sharon...Sometimes God has a plan bigger than our human eyes can see....How old was your husband when you married him?
God has a plan for Wrigley...he need only wait on it..not run to get ahead of it...

So Jesus and Lucifer were spirit brothers? (Check one)
___ Yes
___ No
___ I'd rather not answer this on grounds that it might be embarassing.

SO YOUR ANSWER IS YES?

"I think the LDS Church (and others, though few others are as well-organized about communicating with members) need to promulgate a no-exceptions rule against children spending the night alone with unrelated adult males."
They do not allow Cub Scouts to do any overnight camping of any kind, and they teach parents and kids what they should know, but in the end the responsibility of the parents to protect their kids because no matter what the rules are, a determined pervert will find a way to get around it. The Church is not at fault in this at all.

There are rules in place. For example, there must be two Scout leaders at scout camp, and they have to sleep in another place, other than where the boys sleep. I was assistant camp director in my ward, the rules for girls camp was that there was a leader in each tent, or on each floor of the cabin. You are absolutely correct in saying that if unrelated adult males are doing the asking of spending the night, the parents need to be aware and not let their child go, no matter how much they trust the man. One of my sisters does not allow her children to have or go to sleepovers, except for camp. Better safe than sorry.

The LDS church did make mistakes in the past. Since we have a lay clergy (volunteer clergy), they weren't always prepared for the henious crime of child sexual abuse. That is no longer the case. There is a hotline that leaders can call 24 hours a day if they have a problem with sexual abuse in their ward/stake. And if a person is accused and/or found guilty of child sexual abuse/molestation, in the case of the found guilty, they are immediately excommunicated. And it is a LONG process back to being baptized, and they can never have any church position or be in authority over children in the LDS church. And they must have permission from the President of the LDS and his two counsellors to be re-baptized. In the case of accusations, the person is released from their church calling until the issue is resolved. Yes, the LDS church was naive in the past, but no more.

"I find the "personal worthiness interview" idea chilling"
Far less chilling than any job interview I've ever been in. It's not an interegation, it is an opportunity for a person to declare their worthiness, or confess their lack of it.

"I really don't know much about beliefs of the Mormon fundamentalists except for their continued practice of polygyny."
Usually there isn't much more to than that. It's just a group or person that wants to practice polygamy and decides to use the good name of the Church in the hopes of either borowing our credibility, or smearing our name.

"Yet Edward Watson appears to think that means we should sit idly by and not say anything about bad theology. "
What is 'good theology' or 'bad theology' is a matter of opinion. Every religion feels there is are valid arguments for their theology and against the theology of others.
I have no problem with someone saying they disagree with X because of Y (as long as X is factual) but when someone acts like they are God and get to decide who is right and wrong, then they are being arrogant and disrepectfull. When they are unable to respectully disagree and resort to mockery and every trick of yellow journalism, then they are dishonest, apostate, intollerant and bigoted IMHO.
EW has not accused out of hand, those posters he condemned have demonstrated time and again the truth of EW's accusations.

"Some links I find helpful to better understand Mormon theology: "
If I wanted to know what Catholics taught, I would seek information from Catholic sources.
If a person wants to know what we teach instead of the opinons of other men on what we teach, check out

"I just found out recently that the big church in Salt lake does not allow people-either family or friends- of the bride and groom to attend their wedding therein if such people have not managed to attain a certain sort of law or credential, whatever, with the church bigwigs. How sick is that? "
If the wedding is taking place inside a temple, then only those who have a temple recomend can attend. Those without a temple recomend are not permitted to enter the temple.
Any member who is living their religion can go see the Bishop and Stake President (hardly 'big wigs') and get a recomend. If the wedding is outside of the temple, then anyone invited may come. Hardly 'sick' at all.
"I wonder what Jesus would have to say about that?"
It was his idea to start with. He tossed the money changers out of the temple courtyard and forbade any unclean person or thing to enter it.

"I'm not looking for any further comments from you,.."
That's the problem. All you guys have made up your mind and don't want to give honest consideration to anything we have to say.
I'm sure you think your questions make some kind of point, but they only show me where you misunderstand our position.

All you guys have made up your mind and don't want to give honest consideration to anything we have to say. Of course we do, but getting straight answers out of you is the problem. I wasn't looking for further comments because it was obvious she was uncomfortable answering the question, and I didn't want to push the issue at that time.
What in post 73 do you disagree with?
I'm sure you think your questions make some kind of point, but they only show me where you misunderstand our position.
Oh but they do make a point. A very very big point.

"Mormon doctrine doesn't match the Bible "
Mormon doctrine doesn't match YOUR religion's interpetation of the Bible. Every religion has a set of doctrines and views the Bible as being supportive of those doctrines. It is circular reasoning to then say the doctrine is true because the Bible supports it. We read the same verses and attach different meantings to what is said, and from our POV, our doctrine is consistant with the Bible and your doctrine is not.
You can not find the truth by relying on the opinions of men. Only by going to God in prayer and finding out from Him can you really come to know what is true.
"the Bible as the ultimate authority"
By what athority do you claim that? The Bible doesn't claim to be the source of authority, in fact christians didn't have a Bible for hundreds of years. Do different translations of the Bible have different levels of authority?
"Jesus cannot be the one and only Son of God and at the same time have Lucifer as a brother. "
'sons of God' is a very common phrase in the Bible. Christ is the 'only begotten son', not 'only son'. We are ALL sons and daughters of God the Father spiritualy. God is the creator (Father) of our spirit, even Lucifer's spirit, and in that way Lucifer is brother to not just Christ, but all of us, likewise for Christ. If you want to speak out against our teachings, you should know them better first.

"The Bible states that Jesus has existed as God eternally. Here are a few of many verses stating this:"
Again you only show a conflict between your understanding of the Bible and our doctrine. Our understanding of those verses doens't conflict with our doctrine.

"Here's Jesus speaking just 3 verses earlier: 'I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End. ' The Bible tells us that Jesus was not created."
Can't you see what you are doing? It doesn't say 'Jesus was not created' it says 'I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End. ' and you then take that as meaning Jesus was not created. We don't view that verse as meaning what you think it means.
