But "let's kneel here and then, after the Amen, we stand up" hardly requires much study, does it? A three-year-old can get the concept.

That's why you know he is looking for ways out. If he had any intention of going along peacefully it wouldn't take more than a 3 year old to figure it out. (Well, at least one other than my three year old, who still has issues about when he should stand and when he should plop down on the floor and roll about.)
