It is curious that the RCC made it a point to persecute those who made the Scriptures available in the native tongues of people around the world. In fact, the RCC purposely kept the Bible away from the people on the grounds that we could not understand it. Now the RCC states that we should have the Bible available to us. Don't your find these positions contradictory?

The only reason why the RCC slams the doctrine of sola scriptura is because the Bible clearly repudiates the teaching of the RCC. If people in the RCC actually read their Bibles they would reject Rome. Therefore, this is nothing more than an ill-begotten manipulation technique. Their reasoning is rather circular. They say that only the church is qualified to interpret the scriptures. The reason is that the scriptures, which can only be interpreted by the RCC, say so. By the way, I get a kick out of the papists claims that the Apostles in the Acts were involved in a nascent Catholic church. My Baptist friends claim that the apostolic church was a nascent Baptist church. Personally, I believe the church in Acts was a nascent Presbyterian church. I know so because historic presbyterians have said so.

Very true. This is one of polycarp's tricks. He tries to put down Sola Scriptura at every turn. On Scripture alone his church fails. He has to elevate tradition to a level that is equal with Scripture. Most of us "bigots," as he calls us, left Rome after seeking answers in the bible.I believe, though I maybe wrong, most people that convert to catholicism have a very limited knowledge of scripture and are caught up in the deception of the contemperary RC apologists spin.
I read in a thread Polycarp posting that anyone trusting in Scriptures alone is headed for a trainwreck. This would be laughable if it wasn't so pathetic. If this be true I'll take the trainwreck. If it comes down to belief in Gods word or belief in an institution that claims it's teachings are from God's word, yet vary at every turn, I'll take my chances.

What a nonsense.

Why would someone reject the one holy Catholic and Apostolic Church of Christ after reading the Bible?

In the contrary, reading the Holy Scripture will strengthen your faith in Jesus Christ and His Church.
