VATICAN CITY (CNS) -- Pope John Paul II is preparing to issue an apostolic letter on praying the rosary, Vatican sources said. The 44-page letter, titled "Rosarium Virginis Mariae" ("The Rosary of the Virgin Mary"), was expected to be officially released sometime in the coming weeks, the sources said Sept. 24. The letter touches upon the importance of the rosary as a Marian prayer, on how to pray it and on the possibilities of promoting it throughout the church, the sources said. The pope, who has a deep devotion to Mary, has prayed the rosary throughout his life. In recent times, particularly after the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks, he has encouraged Catholics around the world to recite it daily to help protect humanity from the evils of violence and war.

You can get free rosary tapes from CatholiCity.com or from the Mary Foundation; they have the Divine Mercy prayers on them, as well, and they're free!

<> Mega KJPL Dittoes. Thanks, Des...My bride made my Rosary which I pray every day. She is a convert from Congregationalism and she prays the Rosary daily on the one she made. She is a convert due to the intercession of Mary via the Green Scapular.
As A Catholic with three Mothers, My Mom, HM Church, and Mary, I am delighted to hear of this news. <>

I never seem to get to it before I crawl into bed, but it's now a nightly thing. My sister spent the night over the weekend and said, "Oh, you're praying. Ask for a husband for me." My mom has one in the car, one next to her bed, one in her desk at school... Grandma has more than that and used to sit down in the afternoon with a gin and tonic and say it. We called it the Spiritual Happy Hour.
Other than my grandfather (who said his every day until the day he died), I don't know that the men in my family say it at all.

I never seem to get to it before I crawl into bed LOL ... I keep one rosary under the pillow. Oftentimes, the dogs will get me up during the night to make a quick visit to the greater outdoors. They have no problem falling back to sleep ... but by then I'm wide awake. That's when I reach for the rosary.
EWTN has the Rosary from the Holy Land on 2x a day - 7:30am and 9:30pm. I shower and get dressed to the morning edition.

If you start saying your rosary while you go to bed, and you fall asleep while you say it, your Gardian Angle finneshes it for you.

I hope the pope acts on that fast and spreads the word that we should say the rosary. The rosary has so much power to change things worldly when we say it devoutly.

In a years time there may be a week's worth of days that I don't pray the full 15 decade rosary every day. (And hopefully devoutly!)

The rosary has so much power to change things worldly when we say it devoutly. That deserves repeating.
