Thanks for posting -- I think . . .

Kneeling is a posture suited to private, personal prayer; kneeling tends to close out people around us. This should never occur in liturgy.

I would have thought kneeling truly unites in common worship -- we cease to be separate. In the Sign of Peace, e.g., on the contrary, we are suddenly reminded that we are separate -- else why greet each other?
