"WAR IS NOT INEVITABLE. PRAY IN TONGUES"
- by C. Strom. [-My father. -Andrew.]

I was woken early this morning by the "noise" of my spirit shouting silently in tongues. (Nothing can shout as loud as when silently praying in tongues!) Over this prayer was the clear message in English:

"WAR IS NOT INEVITABLE. PRAY IN TONGUES."

As I continued to pray I felt the following things:

(1) To alert as many people as possible to this message. That it wasn't just for me.

(2) That the battle is spiritual, not physical. That if we Christians win the battle spiritually, the physical battle will not be necessary (2Chron 20).

(3) That the same negative spiritual power that was behind Nebuchadnezzar is behind Saddam Hussein. First we must bind this strong man in the background before his puppet, the strong man in the foreground will equally submit and allow his goods to be spoiled.

(4) In practical terms: we must win the prayer battle before that spiritual power will allow Saddam to submit to the unqualified unrestricted viewing of all sites essential to prevent war.

(5) That tongues is essential. That we cannot possibly pray accurately enough in sufficient detail in English to accomplish this depth of intercession.

(6) To especially draw Christians' attention to 1 Thess 5:17,19:

Pray without ceasing...Quench not the Spirit.

The Holy Spirit will continue to pray in tongues through us (Acts 2:4) so long as we continue to co-operate with Him in this urgent occupation. Don't let other preoccupations quench Him, as can so easily happen.

(7) That fasting acts as an intensifier. Fasting amplifies the prayer. That any form of fasting is better than no fasting at all. Fasting from TV, or partial fasting, for instance. If you can't pray because of work but can fast, remember that "fasting is your whole body praying."

(8) Finally, that things would never have got this bad if only Christians had prayed. Far too many Christians are sidetracked on other good things and are neglecting the essential of prayer. Far too many intercessors are stuck on receiving revelation before praying when we already have the supernatural weapon par excellence of Holy Spirit gifted tongues. Pray without ceasing! Literal Greek: Pray without a pause!

Wow.

Did Swaggart ever learn anything from his missing the mark so widely? He sure didn't seem to listen to his bretheren who tried to discipline and help him, last I heard.

Likewise if you're ever in the four corners region of NM.

There IS a quality A of G pastor [of my teen years] in I think Shrieveport? sp? Alvin G. Eden. He's a treasure. A straight shooter if there ever was one. Tells it like it is. Loves God and People. Hard worker. Doesn't like phoney.

Don't know. I'm sure he's learned from it, just not sure what. The parking lot is might sparse on Sunday. Phenomenal facility but a ghost town.

Absolutely love that part of the country!

My seDiments are rather close to yours.

Iron sharpening iron is a long cherished metaphor. So few seem willing, courageous enough to really rise to that level of relating in a very vigorous, persistent way--certainly not for very long. Sigh.

Can you imagine Christ and 12 men living so closely for 3 years. Talk about iron sharpening iron.

Blessings,

Even though we think (and believe) we are praying according to all the correct and infallible Biblical principles, results for prayer do not always occur in the ways we predict. This is because God is God, and we are not, and there is always more to learn about His ways and our relationship to Him in prayer, and how prayer "works."

Your post about a call to prayer sounds like a challenge. I wonder how may freepers would be willing to take up this specific challenge "in tongues," or prayer In the Spirit, and what would be the result? More than just discussion, could this have an impact on world events?

SOMEHOW, reading this reminded me of some things we've all said on this thread. I think at least the issues are worthy prayerful pondering and alertness.

Subject: Fwd: THE POWER TO EFFECT LIFE-Undrai & Bridget Fizer

Meri - I believe Undai Fizer is one clearest and sharpest visionaries speaking to the Body today and I appreciate that you often make his words available to the AP List. I would especially like to highlight this word and his perspective on ordination and gifting.

As Undai says, there is a shift away from recognizing people for their gifting, even if their gifting has them being very accurate in prophecy. I have often heard someone commend a prophetic minister by saying that he or she was very accurate in their prophetic word.

Granted, I believe we should all be as accurate as we can possibly be. But, by placing the focus on prophetic performance we walk a fine line that edges close to the psychic realm.

It is far better to "forthtell" the heart of God than it is to "foretell" events or knowledge. Undai also rightly points out that many today are being ordained by the Spirit for their perseverance rather than their skill and for "life ministry" rather than "church ministry." I would have said it stronger.

I believe the Spirit is ordaining men and women to be bondslaves and disciples while the organized church system still ordains for a vague and deceptive "calling." Too often "calling" is simply a substitute for being a Christian "careerist". A Christian careerist is what the Bible calls a "hireling."

THE POWER TO EFFECT LIFE-Undrai & Bridget Fizer
Undrai & Bridget Fizerm
Sep 18, 2002

God's apostolic dimension is taking over life as we know it (and not just solely taking over the "church" and it's presentation). It's effecting life as we know and live it. It's effecting our understanding and ideas of thought. It's moving beyond the category of "religious practice," and taking over the realm called LIFE.

This is a transition that the Body of Christ at large must learn to embrace and understand. Our prior "thinking" of "church," ministry, and leadership will be challenged to the hilt. We will be moved to expand beyond our "borders" of life and thought. This is the Power of God being moved into the realm of life as we know it.

God will use us according to our pursuits of His Life in this dimension. We will not be able to escape from the demands of His life by "hiding in our gifts." The most effective "gift" that will be used by the Spirit is the gift of embraced purpose, maturity, and love for the Father. Our love in Him will "create the tools" needed to advance His Life.

You must be able to effect life, and not just "church" per se. God is challenging us to effect the lives of men. We must allow the Spirit to remove us from the "presentation of ministry" and introduce us to the "life of kingdom administration" (which is the ministry of LIVING).

The apostolic dimension is not a religious dimension. It is not a conference dimension or a church dimension. It is a living dimension, creating a "stir" within the lives and minds of the saved and the unsaved in this world. It is a dimension that turns "worlds upside down." This cannot happen on a Sunday. It cannot be an anointing that only turns a "service" upside down. It must "rattle" the foundations of life, thought, and creativity!

God is merging Himself into the realm of life. He is walking among us in the Spirit, producing a power in the times of men. The Father is moving beyond the 2 to 3 hour presentation of ministry, and causing an apostolic manifestation in the schedules of life. Do not seek for the full manifestation of the apostolic/prophetic dimension in the service times of "church as we know it." The best way to see it is through the movements of life.

He is adding daily to the church (or Himself). This dimension is one that adds daily in various regions, meeting places, and conversations. It cannot be "boxed" in or programmed. (You cannot program anything that cannot be contained or "stilled." You cannot program the "breathing of the Spirit).

NOTE: This dimension is so powerful, that the only thing you can do is "gather together" and receive the Breath of the Father. When you receive the Father's life, you can "confidently" give it to someone else. There is no fear in releasing to others what you have truly received for yourself. (You do not have to ask "what do I give?" You can only give "what you have.")

The Father is structuring His believers into "prophetic gatherings." This is not a gathering where individuals just "prophesy." It's a gathering that receives the life flow of the Father (which is prophetic). They receive the ever expanding river of God that produces wisdom, instruction, maturity, and order. It's the dimension of the Kingdom.

Even ordinations will be different. The Father is not choosing individuals according to ministry gifting or presentation. He is choosing those who are pursuers of purpose. The Father will publicly "ordain" those who are living out of what they were "ordained, or created" to be. There are many who have been "ordained" to be something in the "church" that they have not been ordained to be in life itself.

The apostolic/prophetic dimensions of God will identify the "life ordination" of an individual, whether saved [?YET?] or not, speak into that place in their lives, thus producing the real "ordination" of the Spirit (salvation and purpose). Do you see the changes that are happening to God's people and His Government? **

Your life is being challenged by the Father, not just a gifted "presentation" of ministry. Your endurance and patience is being defined for ministry, not our "excellency of speech" and "wit." Your crushing is being tested for ministry to the nations and not your ability to be an "accurate prophet." Accuracy doesn't get the job done.

Substance, maturity and prophetic endurance will. (You can be an accurate "prophet" and yet fail in endurance.) I think that's why a lot of "prophetic individuals" get frustrated. They "know" what it takes to "pass the test." But, they lack what it takes to endure and be completed by the "test." Some feel that they should be "placed in authority" because of what they know. But the Father places you there by what you have "received, believed, and endured!"

Some may say, "This person is not as gifted as me." But what they don't realize is that the person may have "endured the process" better than the one who was "gifted." Giftings and endurance are two, different things. You cannot impart what you do not endure. Those who have endured could still be "flawed in spirit." Yet, they have the ability to yet live this life with "thorns" in their flesh.

Gifted (but unprocessed) individuals desire respect for their "power." But the real power is enduring the Hand of God, and remaining alive! (Some gifted individuals "escape" the Hand of God by finding "refuge" in their own "powers.")

Endurance produces the real gifts of God within the believer. Maturity and substance attracts the eyes of the Father towards you. That is what the Father truly recognizes.

Life, and not gifts alone..

ABSOLUTELY. How to get like minded folk alerted hereon is a problem. I suspect many folk who would be happy to comply in tongues or otherwise do not frequent the religion section. Perhaps if we ping-ed those we know who might be sympathetic to the call--it could CERTAINLY HELP and not hurt.

BLESS YOU.

I can agree with Calvinists about a lot of highest priority things.

1. LOVING GOD WHOLLY

2. LOVING NEIGHBORS AS SELF

3. NOTHING BUT THE BLOOD OF JESUS solves the sin problem

4. Where we are, HE IS. Where HE IS, HE WILL TAKE US.

At least I think you'd agre with 3 & 4.

Yeah, I like the Vineyard music, too. And I liked Wimber's humility. Shook his hands once--actually prayed for them as they were hurting for some reason--maybe shaking too many hands--anyway, I was struck, they were very thick like Paul Harvey's.

I always thought it very funny--one of God's jokes--after surviving cancer of the nose, he falls and dies in the shower or bathtub.

I believe there are NO accidents ..the day of our birth..the day of our rebirth and the day of our death was all written before we were born.

For everything there is a season..a time to be born and a time to die

We can rest secure in that Q

And we do agee what washes our sin is ONLY the blood of Christ... and it is only HIS grace that keeps us:>)

What can this person be thinking?

Innacuracy of prophecy is a sure sentence to stoning. That is in the Bible.

Da?

I'm still tracking down my refs--NOT a high priority to me at this time and it's not in easily accessed memory . . .

HOWEVER, 2-3 times authentically great prophets in the OT were wrong and not a hint of God wanting them stones.

Why does Paul exhort believers in the NT to all prophecy yet set up in I COR 14 that all prophecies should be judged--evidently as whether they are truly from God and fitting or not--WITHOUT ANY HINT OF TURNING AND STONING THOSE amiss in that context.

Certainly someone chronically wrong with 0% fruit for the Kingdom would be another story.

When in the modern world has someone been sent to the back side of the desert for 40 years or even 10 years alone with God to purify their hearing and speaking?

I believe God wants us to submit one to another as a key part of perfecting our faith and conforming us in the image of His Son.

But really, I think you missed the point of what the brother was saying in that post.

He was talking about MODERN DAY PROPHETS WHO ***WERE***/ARE ACCURATE EITHER ROUTINELY OR VIRTUALLY 100% AND WHO THEREFORE GET PUFFED UP ABOUT IT AND SORT OF LEAN ON, DEPEND ON, CROW ABOUT, USE AS CURRENCY THAT FACT. He was saying that's all bassackwards. . . that GOD MUST BE THE FOCUS and all of us continue to consider ourselvs as grass--mere channels, tools in The Master's hand--nothing to be arrogant about; nothing to lean on one's laurels about.
