The Thousand Years

Revelation 20:4-6 4 Then I saw thrones, and they sat on them, and judgment was given to them. And I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded because of their testimony of Jesus and because of the word of God, and those who had not worshiped the beast or his image, and had not received the mark on their forehead and on their hand; and they came to life and reigned with Christ for a thousand years. 5 The rest of the dead did not come to life until the thousand years were completed. This is the first resurrection. 6 Blessed and holy is the one who has a part in the first resurrection; over these the second death has no power, but they will be priests of God and of Christ and will reign with Him for a thousand years.

The Millennium & Peace

Isaiah 2:1-5

1 The word which Isaiah the son of Amoz saw concerning Judah and Jerusalem. 2 Now it will come about that In the last days The mountain of the house of the LORD Will be established as the chief of the mountains, And will be raised above the hills; And all the nations will stream to it. 3 And many peoples will come and say, "Come, let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, To the house of the God of Jacob; That He may teach us concerning His ways And that we may walk in His paths." For the law will go forth from Zion And the word of the LORD from Jerusalem. 4 And He will judge between the nations, And will render decisions for many peoples; And they will hammer their swords into plowshares and their spears into pruning hooks. Nation will not lift up sword against nation, And never again will they learn war. 5 Come, house of Jacob, and let us walk in the light of the LORD.

Isaiah 11:1-10

1 Then a shoot will spring from the stem of Jesse, And a branch from his roots will bear fruit. 2 The Spirit of the LORD will rest on Him, The spirit of wisdom and understanding, The spirit of counsel and strength, The spirit of knowledge and the fear of the LORD. 3 And He will delight in the fear of the LORD, And He will not judge by what His eyes see, Nor make a decision by what His ears hear; 4 But with righteousness He will judge the poor, And decide with fairness for the afflicted of the earth; And He will strike the earth with the rod of His mouth, And with the breath of His lips He will slay the wicked. 5 Also righteousness will be the belt about His loins, And faithfulness the belt about His waist. 6 And the wolf will dwell with the lamb, And the leopard will lie down with the young goat, And the calf and the young lion and the fatling together; And a little boy will lead them. 7 Also the cow and the bear will graze, Their young will lie down together, And the lion will eat straw like the ox. 8 The nursing child will play by the hole of the cobra, And the weaned child will put his hand on the viper's den. 9 They will not hurt or destroy in all My holy mountain, For the earth will be full of the knowledge of the LORD As the waters cover the sea. 10Then in that day The nations will resort to the root of Jesse, Who will stand as a signal for the peoples; And His resting place will be glorious.

Isaiah 14:1-2

1 When the LORD will have compassion on Jacob and again choose Israel, and settle them in their own land, then strangers will join them and attach themselves to the house of Jacob. 2 The peoples will take them along and bring them to their place, and the house of Israel will possess them as an inheritance in the land of the LORD as male servants and female servants; and they will take their captors captive and will rule over their oppressors.

Isaiah 32:1-8,15-20

1 Behold, a king will reign righteously And princes will rule justly. 2 Each will be like a refuge from the wind And a shelter from the storm, Like streams of water in a dry country, Like the shade of a huge rock in a parched land. 3 Then the eyes of those who see will not be blinded, And the ears of those who hear will listen. 4 The mind of the hasty will discern the truth, And the tongue of the stammerers will hasten to speak clearly. 5 No longer will the fool be called noble, Or the rogue be spoken of as generous. 6 For a fool speaks nonsense, And his heart inclines toward wickedness: To practice ungodliness and to speak error against the LORD, To keep the hungry person unsatisfied And to withhold drink from the thirsty. 7 As for a rogue, his weapons are evil; He devises wicked schemes To destroy the afflicted with slander, Even though the needy one speaks what is right. 8 But the noble man devises noble plans; And by noble plans he stands....15 Until the Spirit is poured out upon us from on high, And the wilderness becomes a fertile field, And the fertile field is considered as a forest. 16 Then justice will dwell in the wilderness

Satan Bound

Millennial Terms "Many days...", "His Days..."

Isaiah 24:22

They will be gathered together Like prisoners in the dungeon, And will be confined in prison; And after many days they will be punished.

Ezekiel 38:8

"After many days you will be summoned; in the latter years you will come into the land that is restored from the sword, whose inhabitants have been gathered from many nations to the mountains of Israel which had been a continual waste; but its people were brought out from the nations, and they are living securely, all of them.

Psalms 72:7

In his days may the righteous flourish, And abundance of peace till the moon is no more.

Jeremiah 23:6

"In His days Judah will be saved, And Israel will dwell securely; And this is His name by which He will be called, 'The LORD our righteousness.'

You mean the wicked dead are resurrected and then, die again, go to hell alive, or what?

Yes, except for the part about the wicked dead dying again. They are placed in Hell, alive. There they await their summons to stand before the Great White Throne Judgment.

(Note, since this is the first resurrection, and you are saying the wicked dead take part in it, even though they are subsequently sent to or back to hell, there is the problem of Rev 20:6 "Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, ....")

The first resurrection is first because of its type, not its timing. The righteous who are resurrected are by definition part of the first resurrection, whether their particular resurrections occurred at the Rapture or at the ushering in of the Kingdom.

Then you say:

Here we are told what is to happen after the Millenium. Satan is loosed, nations are deceived again, they go up to battle Jesus. Jesus casts Satan into the Lake of Fire. All the dead are then resurrected and brought before the Great White Throne.

First a question about the millennium. Will there be birth and death during the millennium? If you believe there will be, will some of those who die during the millennium be saved, and others not saved? The answer to this question will relate to my final question. (I'm not testing, I really want to know what you and others believe about these things, because hardly anyone ever thinks about them.)

Those are good questions Hank. All I can give you right now are my thoughts.

First off, there will be birth during the Millenium. I don’t believe there will be death during the Millenium. If there is death, I believe it would only occur because of Jesus ruling with a “rod of iron.”

Now, at the final resurrection, are those who were resurrected the first time only to be sent to hell to await the second resurrection, resurrected again? In other words, are they resurrected twice.

No, they were already resurrected. They had been placed alive in Hell to wait for this time in history. They are merely transported from Hell to the Great White Throne.

Now, the really hard question is, if anyone dies during the millennium and is saved, when will they be resurrected?

I don’t believe any saved person will die during the Millenium.

For the record, I am not an amillennialist, or a pre-, post, mid- jumping, -falling, or any other kind of millennialist. I do believe in the literal reign of Christ, as a man sitting on a literal throne on this earth before 'restitution of all things.' Will it be a literal 1000 years? Probably, but I do not know. I do know "now" is not the millennium. (Based on the Scriptural description, it is much more like the tribulation than the millennium.)

Thanks for you honesty, and sharing where you stand.

Please everyone feel free to comment on these questions.

I did. ;^)

I hope I was able to give you the answers you were looking for.
