The "Law of Biogenesis" was first presented by Dr. Louis Pasteur in 1861; it declares that "Life comes only from life, and only after its own kind."

There are, of course, absolutely zero demonstrable laboratory examples of Life spontaneously erupting from Non-Life anywhere in the history of science. Thus, much like the Law of Gravity, the Law of Biogenesis continues to enjoy absolute logical presumption over imaginative hypotheses about life spontaneously erupting from non-life.

Exceptionally Silly persons will continue to place a blind and uncritical Faith in various magical fantasies which suppose that life can mechanistically and spontaneously erupt from non-life; but of course, their unscientific fantasies are little better than a daydream -- certainly not to be confused with any kind of rational Thought.

This is yet another in an endless series of references to cellular life, complete with DNA, leaping spontaneously into existence. This is a strawman. Before this suggestion has to be taken seriously enough to warrant calculating the odds, there must be a proof that that is the only possible way life could have happened. Kindly supply a pointer to that proof, and then we can talk seriously.

Amen! OP, you and I must be destined to agree in critical areas that are so simple it makes one wonder how a person can think otherwise. Pasteur's work is the Occam's Razor of the biological field. Life comes only from life.

Awesome, great, irrefutable arguments. thanks.

this proves that any theory that proposes "life from mechanistic natural processes" MUST be an extremely rare event. That makes it Behe's Intelligent Design work a MOST LOGICAL corollary of Pasteur's work.

The set of such exceptionally silly persons does not include biological scientists who are working on this question. Only creationists and the secularly uninformed hold this up as a scientific paradigm to be shot down. It is not, it is a creationist strawman.
