Arrogant? Is it "arrogant" for you to hope and wish DEATH on someone, Hank?

Rd, sort of an inappropriate reference to something we can't read since the moderator removed it. Apparently, Hank must have said something to someone who wanted a war with Iraq. Hank must have said something like, "If you want war so much, then let your kids be the first to die."

I don't know Hank that well, but perhaps he is a pacifist/conscientious objector. I can tell you from 20 years in the military, mostly as an Army chaplain that conscientious objection and pacifism are REAL beliefs that some Christians really do hold.

I don't hold them, but I've been an interviewing Chaplain for those who did. Some who held them held them for opportunistic reasons, but some were real about their pacifist beliefs.

If Hank so desires he can clarify if my reconstruction of his comments are on target, and if they were based on a Christian pacifist position.

I am not a pacifist. I am totally opposed to war, but believe, if one feels their country is directly threatened by another, and their participation militaily will actually defend it, they are obligated by their own moral code to fight.

My post was with regard to military action against Iraq, and against those rabid warmongers that cannot see that sending American boys (and that is all most of them are) to die in such a war is immoral, because Iraq is no threat to this or any other country at this time. My point was, I do not want to see any die for this absurd purpose, especially those who think this is a good way of ending "terrorism."

Oh, please. What he said had been cut and pasted in responses to him by several posters. All you have to do is continue reading that thread to see.

There was nothing "inappropriate" about me bringing this up here, especially since he so cavalierly threw out the term "arrogant" about Calvinists. That post on the thred in question is the epitome of being inappropriate, especially from one who is supposedly a Believer.
