That is a very, very disturbing set of charges. Essentially you are saying that Rome has approved a heretical cult, correct?

Well... let me parse my words carefully...

I would say that Rome is currently giving approval to what I consider a dangerous cult. The aren't gnostic in the sense that they believe Christ was a human "adopted" by YHWH to be His Son. But they are gnostic in the sense that it is an experiential cult, which gives the members a feeling that they have some "purer" form of the Truth than the rest of us are capable of.

They believe that they are now a vanguard of a movement which will radically transform the Catholic Church, and alter its structure from one based on bishops in dioceses and priests in parishes, to one based on tiny, atomic "cells" modelled on the Marxist cells (small groups of closely-knit believers, who together would be capable of overthrowing a government and taking over a nation).

They think that they have some special "in" with the Holy Spirit, and that the "Spirit" is moving through them to transform the Catholic Church and bring it to its next evolutionary level.

Look at that Liturgy of theirs. They won't say the Nicene Creed, because they think it's too modern! These people are on a serious head-trip!

Do you think that Rome has approved a heretical cult or do you think The Pope, rightly, approves of much but not all of what constitutes this movement? I am sure you do not want to encourage the view the Pope promotes heresy.

The author cites Catechism 1231 as supporting this concept. Actually, what is mentioned in 1231 is "By its very nature infant Baptism requires a post-baptismal catechumenate."

Does this refer, as the author suggests, to the NCW with its aberrant tendencies in the particular groups he is familiar with or does it refer to the orthodox movement referenced in Catechism # 1248? "The catechumenate, or formation of catechumens, aims at bringing their conversion and faith to maturity, in response to the divine initiative and in union with an ecclesial community. The catechumenate is to be "a formation in the whole Christian life...during which the disciples will be joined to Christ their teacher. The catechumens should be properly initiated into the mystery of salvation and the practice of the evangelical virtues, and they should be introduced into the life of faith, liturgy, and charity of the People of God by successive sacred rites."

It is obvious this Great and Holy Pope supports the NCW and desires they adhere to The Magisterium and any suggestion that this Great and Holy Pope succors a heretical movement is beyond the bounds of charity and sanity.

I am sure you will agree that it makes sense to read what Pope Paul VI and Pope John Paul II have said before leaping to such suggestions.
