It occurs to me most of these men I'm looking at on television are homosexuals. Pure evil. Satan's day to dance in Dallas.

Saint Athanasius' said: "The floor of hell is covered with the skulls of bishops."

Gregory's on now (one of Bernadin's Boys, remember) -- blah, blah, blah . . .

He's reading his remarks with the intonation of a third-grader who's been admonished to "Read with expression." And he is reading, not speaking, not referring to notes. I wonder who wrote it for him.

"We recommit outselves to placing the protection of your children first." I can't stand much more of this. I may just turn back to FNC.

This conference will reveal much. Aquinasfan said this could yield a 'firestorm' from the faithful laity. I am beginning to believe him.

Instead of having Fr. Richard John Neuhaus address them, they are having the editor of the extreme liberal rag Commonweal address them...Bishop Galante and several other bishops held a press conference to say that Canon Law does not bar homosexually oriented men from the priesthood.

This is war! God have Mercy on us! This hierarchy has absolutely declared itself the public enemy of the faithful orthodox laity by these acts. Its time for us laity to drop all pretenses of "fairness" and start fighting as if our very Church, and the spiritual future of our children and grandchildren, are at stake. For they literally are at stake!!!

How many more facts, how many more statements, do us laity need to see before we realize that THE ENEMY is the vast majority of the hierarchy, and we must FIGHT, viciously if necessary, without false pretenses of "mercy" and "charity," as if that were the case!

Its time to take the gloves off! When I learned three weeks ago that a known pedophile had "ministered" to my own 9 year old son when he was hospitalized last November (nothing happened, thank God!), I realized that our own bishop was evil. Period. The bishop had promised previous victims this priest would never have access to young boys. He had access to my own son.

Wake up, folks! We have met the enemy. He wears the robes of the bishop and cardinal. He MUST be defeated.

Have to say I agree with you.

Bishop Gregory's speech has been written by some PR firm and he has been coached to emote, but he is totally insincere. Underneath the veneer of concern, there is a heart of ice.

Bishop Gregory has given a speech with the requisite sound bites but the agenda and the people they have invited to speak are all liberal apparatchiks. Have they invited Michael Rose? No. Have they invited Deal Hudson, Fr. Richard John Neuhaus, et al? No.

Bishop Gregory said:"Let us be models of forgiveness to one another." This cheap forgiveness, and cheap reconciliation he wants -- trash, pure trash in a lame and pitiful address.

Siobhan's mood re: the USCCB bishops and the cardinals= BANSHEE RISING - YELLOW ALERT

My husband told me a second ago that if this meeting is volatile now, had I been there it would have been nuclear.

. . . and he has been coached to emote,

He wasn't coached very well. Did no one ever tell him it's deadly to a speech to read it? You memorize it or, ideally, I think, know what you want to say so well that you can speak from a few notes.

No, it was a terrible speech delivered dreadfully.

But Archbishop Flynn is even more of a robot.

Scott Appleby of Notre Dame is a far out leftist as is Steinfels. Disgusting.

Dr. Scott Applebee of Notre Dame

"The mainstream media has done a service."

"The laity is innocent and has every right to be outraged." D'uh.

"Lack of accountability on the part of the bishops" is at fault. Some bishops have been good.

"Abp Flynn and ?? asked him to address what's at stake."

He at least puts on a far better act than Gregory.

He's out to lunch on the Bishops' speaking the truth via testimony.

Catholics patented the "I don't wish to impose my faith" line in the 60's.

Going on about the point of view of the victims and their victims. They say seminaries and priesthood vulnerable to the immoral, and it's the bishops' fault. Arrogation of finances, legal strategies.

He's actually not as bad as I expected. Nothing about homosexuality in the clergy, though.

Now on the culture of clericalism. Right, left and middle agreed that it stems from lack of fidelity.

"the deep middle" ?

Once again ... a look to the Church as bellwether of the secular revolution's next move.

I'm watching EWTN too. The Bishop's look like a group of constipated accountants.

As they were going through the opening prayer, I asked myself: "Can't any of these men pray from the heart?"
