Would you post -- and ping others -- for prayers for a friend of mine? He was one of my first husband's very, VERY best friends, and a very caring, sincere, loving, talented young guy (he was 41) with a marvelous sense of humor. He was in our wedding party, when I married my first hubby, Randy Mason. Our friend's name is Randy Hardison, and he was a successful songwriter and musician.
Last weekend, he was brutally attacked while out getting his mail from his mailbox(!), and his skull was crushed in. He was in a coma until this past Tuesday morning, when he died. The police have officially labeled it a murder, and I am beside myself, because I can't imagine who would want to hurt Randy Hardison, much less kill him?!
The only possible reason I can think of -- and it seems far-fetched -- is that Randy Hardison was Garth Brooks' studio session drummer, and was under contract, so no one else could get those jobs. He was "locked in," so to speak. He was Brooks' session drummer, and that was that. No other drummer had a chance; the job was taken. By Randy Hardison. For years to come. It seems so terribly ridiculous that someone would kill Randy for that, but he was NOT robbed, and the police are stumped.
His friends, and especially his family, deserve to know the truth. Randy deserves to have his killer(s) caught and punished. Please post for others to pray, if they will, that whoever murdered Randy will NOT get away with it??
May You comfort the family and friends of Randy, and may You light the path to the murderer who destroyed this innocent life. We plead for Your justice. In the Name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
If you could spare one, a friend of my daughters was struck and killed by a hit and run driver while he was walking home from work one night last week. His family is devastated. They still have not found the culprit. Thank you!
Prayers coming from our family, prayers for Randy, now gone home to his Lord, and prayers for his grieving family, to have the strength to go cope with this tragedy....
Like everyone here, I sure hope they catch the scum, that did this, and punish them appropriately...

It does my heart good, reading the prayers from all of you. I am still in shock, I think. I used to have panic attacks all the time, but they stopped (except for an occasional one) about ten years ago. I've had several since Tuesday, though. However, it comforts me to envision Randy in Heaven with my second husband, Keith (singer/songwriter), who died from cancer in 1996. And Chet Atkins -- talk about an amazing band! Heavenly!
If you search Google, you'll find some of the songs Randy Hardison wrote, and more about his accomplishments. The music industry suffered a terrible loss. His family and friends have suffered a worse one; Randy was the most caring, honest, genuine, truly Christian person you could ever hope to meet. And he had the best sense of humor! (He did the best Barney Fife impression I've ever heard!)
