The "5 words" that Woody has been looking for is the name of the Gospel. Corin said that he knew what they are, I wanted to give him an opportunity, without fear of embarrasment, to obtain confirmation that he knows these "5 words".
We have not hid the Gospel from anyone. We have proclaimed it, here and elsewhere, daily for almost 30 years now.
We can only respond in one of two ways "yes that's it," or "no, that's not it."
If you've shared those words for 30 years (and I'm sure you indeed have) then one more post isn't going to hurt.
Do you see how silly this is? We've told you what the gospel is. P-Marlowe posted an extensive offering of the gospel at least twice.
You tell us you have no problem sharing it, but when we say "This is the gospel" we're met with "No, that's not it, now guess what it really is."
I said this to Woody on Saturday:
This is the gospel Woody:For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. -John 3:16
It doesn't matter if I use 5 words, 5 thousand words or 5 million words...I can't say it any better than that.
I've believed and shared that as the gospel for years. Here on FreeRepublic, I'm told I'm wrong. I'm using too many words. Maybe, but it's the gospel. It's the good news.
Now, please tell me what you think it is.
