Actually Woody, I have no problem with the fact that you disagree with Dr. Jones. Knowing his life and his ministry, I think that is your loss as well as your error, but certainly your right.

I merely was commenting on the fact that in Post #135 you said Dr. Jones was right in context. That just seems inconsistent with saying he "totally missed it."

I'm sorry we can't come up with your 5 magic words to describe the gospel. Are you looking for a New Testament version of the Jabez Prayer? I don't know if you want the Four Spiritual Laws or the Chick Tract.

Nope, if I take what Dr. Jones was saying and simply apply it outside of the 1 single point he was making, Dr. Jones makes God out to be an IDOLATER. And Dr. Jones said this: He would violate his own nature in doing so. For God never asks us to do anything that he himself is not doinig. Well, the simple fact is that Dr. Jones is wrong.

And I have said that that I like his book. But, you just want to assume that I am trashing your hero. Well, I think you are simply offended that I am critical of anything your Methodist hero has to say. Oh, well, imagine the garbage we get over Calvin. And I haven't even read him.

Nope, these are not my 5 magic words. These are Jesus' 5 "magic words" to name the gospel. Doesn't it bother you that you cannot even articulate the very same words of Christ to name the gospel. And, BTW, the 3 words are the 3 words that Christ Himself used to express the gospel.

Nope, John 3:16 IS NOT the entire gospel. It is only 1 sentence of only 1 part of the gospel. If you could name it and express it, you would know this.
