Personally, I think the_doc should be permanently banned.

I have solved the "doc" problem in my own life by ignoring his posts and requesting that he not post anything to me. So far it has worked well for me. Perhaps if everyone on FR who has been personally insulted by doc just ignored him, then eventually he'd have nobody to listen to his vain rantings.

Unfortunately doc seems to think he represents God in all things religious. Well he doesn't represent me. It is said that as a Christian you must be careful in how you speak and how you live because to some people YOU are the only Bible they will ever read. Some people drive more people away from the Lord than they draw to him.

It's a pity that those people too often think they are the guardians of Christian truth.

Well stated.

I notice that a few posts later, "doc" was slithering around about how he "...just wanted to be quite a bit more earnest than a public forum could handle." Right, just a bit more slimy than a public forum should have to endure. He truly is a legend in his own mind.

I agree with you. If all here could just ignore the non compus mentis among us here at FR, then all we would have to worry about is the damage they do to the Savior's Name.

"Some people drive more people away from the Lord than they draw to him."

That's right, and Jesus was one of them. Whenever Jesus preached the doctrine of absolute predestination he deliberately did it in order to do just that.

"And he said, 'Therefore said I unto you, that no man can come unto me, except it were given unto him of my Father.'

From that time many of his disciples (tares) went back, and walked no more with him. (John 6:60-66)"

Notice that Jesus didn't try to talk them into coming back. He let them go. That sort of preaching gets rid of a lot of the *religious* tares who hang around in orthodox Christian churches today, too. They're more comfortable in the feminized "church" organizations.

"It is said that as a Christian you must be careful in how you speak and how you live because to some people YOU are the only Bible they will ever read."

Someone reportedly overheard a Pharisee saying those words to Jesus. Is that where you got that quote? :D
