You read the words of the_doc, and yet you insult me and refuse to condemn his words and refuse to accept responsibility for defending his words?
ohhhhhh no I see NOTHING silly in the call to obedience ..what I see as silly is using that as a defense of the question...WE preach in obedience to the gospel,we know that the salvation of the lost depends on the preaching of that gospel we preach because without the gospel men are lost..If xzins is correct then you preach so the safe can be damned
I have solved the "doc" problem in my own life by ignoring his posts and requesting that he not post anything to me. So far it has worked well for me. Perhaps if everyone on FR who has been personally insulted by doc just ignored him, then eventually he'd have nobody to listen to his vain rantings.
Unfortunately doc seems to think he represents God in all things religious. Well he doesn't represent me. It is said that as a Christian you must be careful in how you speak and how you live because to some people YOU are the only Bible they will ever read. Some people drive more people away from the Lord than they draw to him.
It's a pity that those people too often think they are the guardians of Christian truth.
Best to ignore the disrupters and move on Wrigley
PM is not your enemy, nor I, we are all going to have differences, yet it is the Lord reads our hearts and minds.
Now you may feel all comfortable to think you are one of the elect and saved. but your believe is your opinion and dose not make it so. I think your wrong, but that is my opinion, and I also know this is not the last stop but this stop is an important step. I believe in the Spirit World you still have another chance to reconcile though, some area's might be harder to over come like bad habit etc.(Didn't mean to get side track.)
Outside of your Calvin clan I don't think you have the right to judge others of their relationship with the Lord. Now you might think it is not what the Lord said in how it is done and that is why you are Calvinist. But you have no authority or right to police others like what doc did in post This is so self-righteous so puffed-up and its what Calvins do.
What I am trying to say it is not proper to do this, sharing and debating, but to have a thought come into your mind to force some one to believe, I dont think so. Until you live that doctrine correctly and its not an opinion how can you comment on it. For an opinion is one thing, but to be emphatic is another. I really mean this in a gentle way
In all seriousness, I admire you for stepping forward, and I have only a deep admiration and affection for you. The truth is, I have been a lightning rod for controversy--no doubt about that, because I have been willing to take unpopular stands with all firmness.
On the other hand, I have always done my best to maintain a proper decorum on the discussion threads.
I will admit that this has not always been easy considering the kind of opinionated, stubborn, even dishonest, even publicly crude folks like we do have on FR. I will not name names; I have never been even so much as tempted to use the abuse button. For the record, however, I can think of several people who could have been banned for the kinds of things which they have repeatedly dared to fling at me in public in utterly flagrant violation of FR rules.
In Brian's case, I just wanted to be quite a bit more earnest than a public forum could handle. I cannot tell you why I felt this way. But I decided to be pretty clear about my views in a private e-mail--which I explicitly refused to give him permission to post, of course. (This was not a matter of cowardice on my part, but a matter of decorum in FR's protocols.) Now, since he posted the e-mail against my instructions, I gather that a lot of people will now know how concerned about my Roman Catholic friends (and now, I guess, my Roman Catholic enemies) I am.
On balance, however, the situation is fine with me. Really. If the Admin Moderator and Jim Robinson conclude that it's best for me to go, I am not worried in the least for myself. I have lots of stuff to do.
So, it's a win/win situation for me.
No matter what happens over this flap, I will continue to pray for Free Republic.
Don't EVER again say that you Calvinists NEVER push the abuse button!!
Frankly, it seems to me that lately you push most everyone's abuse button everytime you post a comment.
The big difference is I did not know what the result would be I had no "evil " intent...this is a far different situation..
I will tell you that I take scripture very seriously and the measure you use to measure other IS the measure used to measure you
(I already knew that, BTW.)
I too have gotten scathing letters from your co-horts in the pass and some are still on my private mail list. Its wrong and it is not of the Lord people should act like this, Calvins are one of many.
