Thanks for reposting this. I haven't been hanging out here all that long.

This article contradicts so many things I grew up with regarding Vatican II. I started going to a more orthodox parish recently, one rejected by the people in my life who are constantly in need of something "new and refreshing" and an affirmation that disagreement with the church on certain things is okay (it's not. Old church, a woman is always hand the Ciborium. New church - NEVER - it's always a priest). One person told me not to bother to join because sooner or later, they were just going to have to change like everybody else.

As for chant, it's SOOOOO much easier than the crap that's out right now and flows so wonderfully. Accompaniment is superfluous. I confess I do like the Gelineau Gradual, but it is more difficult. Now if we just teach the people that everyone CAN sing. It's just a matter of manipulating the respiratory system.

Keep it up. There was a wonderful priest/pastor in St. Louis who taught his parish Chant--they actually memorized several Ordinaries.

Thanks, by the way, for the gift of Abp. Dolan to us here in Milwaukee.
