According to an article in the August 7, 1997, issue of The Toledo Blade, an organization called "The New Order" has been distributing a 1980 article about the USS Liberty attack along with pamphlets calling for an investigation of the attack and others calling for an end to aid for Israel and article in praise of Adolf Hitler.

More than likely the story is a plant meant to discredit the sailors who had to live through the attack. Bringing up the Liberty was appropriate as it is obvious that Israel ( NSA information from aircraft that recorded the event) knew that they were attacking an American vessel and instigated a campaign of smear against those sailors who wanted the attack to be investigated.

It's similar to what's going on here at FR. Anything critical of Israel is denounced as "anti-Semitic" even if the information itself cannot be refuted.

Nope, you know the USS Liberity is a big neo-nazi white supremecist "buzz word". Heck, it gets used here in the same way all the time. Look at you, a thread discussing the murder of innocent Israelis, a multitude of your falacious points exposed, along with your posting of a distateful revisionist web site, so what to you do? Drag in the USS Liberty. I know, it's out of your concern for America.

The NSA aircraft did not monitor the event, rather it picked up the radio messages of Israeli MTB's. The American airman and linguist who recorded those communications, Marvin E. Nowicki wrote in a letter to the Wall Street Journal (16 May 2001) that the Israeli military forces "prosecuted the Liberty until their operators had an opportunity to get close-in and see the flag" The attack, he believes, "was a gross error."
