Sink,

I almost lost the faith in 1991 because of the lies and distortions of these kinds of blockheads.

I recently lost my kid sister to these kinds of blockheads, and my younger brother too several years ago.

They were never taught Roman Catholicism, but instead were fed the spirit of Vatican II crap instead. They were easy prey to deceivers and liars.

A prophet is never accepted in his home. I'm not a prophet, but neither have I been able to replace the crap my siblings have been taught by these kinds of blockheads with the beauty of Truth.

For me and many others, this is personal. I don't want others to fall to the lies I almost fell to, and my siblings have indeed fallen to.

This is spiritual warfare, and the stakes are high. Eternal Savation is at stake for some of these folks.

One of the problems with making this spiritual warfare, however, is the tendency to be dragged into the mud with the mud slingers. There are lurkers that read these types of threads who make decisions about matters based more on the way that people conduct themselves than by the pursuasive nature of their words. It is very difficult to not stoop to the level of individuals who view a forum such as this a opportunity to attempt to convert people. I hope you are able to remain above the fray. The process may draw more attention than the content.

God is using you well, as His instrument.

I, for one, can't begin to fathom what goes on in the minds or hearts of someone who believes God creates human beings who, through no fault of their own, will be consigned to hell.

That's not religious belief; it's sickness.

Dr. I want to say that I am ashamed by what the_doc wrote. I am a Christian, what you would call a Calvinist. It is not my nature to call people names. It just isn't right. I feel that if you can't use convincing terms in your debate, to resort to name calling means you have lost the battle. I do not believe that the Catholic Church is right, but I could never get you to believe by assaulting you verbally. I will state that I believe there are many God fearing, God loving believers in the Catholic Church. I do feel, however, that some of the teachings of the Catholic Church are in error. the_doc, from what I could see from your post, was wrong to assault you verbally. I assume he was attempting to convince you of the errors of your Church. To do so in such a fearsome manner was uncalled for. Christ calls us to love our neighbors, and to pray for each other. I will pray for both of you. Forgive him, even if he never sees the error of his ways.
