Yes, but the key is that when Adam made his choice of the wrong tree, he was forbidden to eat of the other tree. He was thrown out of Eden, and two cherubim were posted to guard the way back to the Tree of Life.

In a proper study of Hebrews ( I have Wm Lane's two books for reference)Psalm 8:4-6 and Psalm 110:1 are always brought into consideration as they are used by the author of Hebrews. From Psalm 8 we can see what God intended for mankind, had they made the right choice, and He still will give it to them, through Christ.
