Dear Sisters and Brothers,
We LDS are a picular people so it is hard for us to fit in on the various theology discussions and the Lord has taught us to study the many wonderful books of his Word. This topic I have taken this from the "Access to the Ancients" Archive, in Meridan Mag. archives.
I hope we can followship often. Others are welcome to join in, if your purpose is to discuss scriptures. If you have another agenda please take it to another thread.
Our Purpose is to study the doctrine of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

This is off topic so I apologize in advance.
I hope we can followship often.
I noticed you used the same word "followship" in your keywords. In Christian circles we use the word "fellowship". Do the LDS define "followship" differently from "fellowship"?

You should really be seeking the TRUE God and not some mountain. At the risk of finding myself in at least partial agreement with CCW [what's wrong with that picture? ;-)], I'm not sure I see the importance of figuring out where the real Mt. Sinai might be. Seems like a "nice to know" kind of thing, but to each his own, I guess.

Whatever the merits or demerits of Mormonism, the Mount of the Lawgiving is Jabal al Lawz, and yes, that is in a northwest corner of Saudi Arabia, some 60 miles SSE of Aqaba, Jordan.
This has always been known in Kabbalistic Judaism, but one cannot have a big crowd going out there and disturbing the evidence, and it is currently sealed off by the Saudi regime from prying eyes.
Even before that, Israeli surveillance has been a fact of life there since the independence of the latter, or even before.

Didn't mean to offend. I thought perhaps the LDS used different terminology. Sorry.

I agree, but I find it ironic that some people who insist on knowing the exact location of Zarahemla would say the same thing as CCW said. Now, Zarahemla would be a real find, given that the mainstream Christian world denies that it ever existed, except in Joseph Smith's imagination. The existence of Mt. Sinai, on the other hand, is accepted and assumed by Bible-believers, even if they don't know it's exact location.
At any rate, BofM geography (in the western hemisphere, at least) has never held any special fascination with me.

Sorry I read your post but was puzzled by your question I am dyslexic and on top of that have been experiencing vision trouble lately, so I didn't see the error in spelling.

I saw a Discovery special produced many years ago that found the true Mt. in Saudi Arabia. It met all the qualifications of the scriptural trip of Jews and the descriptions of the land marks encountered along the way.

restornu, this is off topic but have you ever heard of a book called, "
The Gift of Dyslexia" by Ronald Davis? I found it to be a fascinating read, though I'm not dyslexic myself.
To: Some hope remaining.
I have and it is a good take on this subject.
Thanks
