Our thread in search of a patron saint for Catholic FReepers was a marvelous revelation. We have such a rich heritage as Catholics, that the possibilities are limitless. Although it is strictly unofficial (and no one elected me Pope) I would like to declare that we do indeed have a patron saint:
Mary, Queen of All Saints, pray for us.
Our Mother in Heaven the Patron of our Catholic Caucus board... it only makes sense!
Prayer to the Sorrowful Mother for the Church and the Pontiff
Most Holy Virgin and Mother, your soul was pierced by a sword of sorrow in the passion of your divine Son, and in His glorious resurrection, you were filled with unending joy in His triumph! Obtain for us who call upon you, to be such partakers in the adversities of holy Church and in the sorrows of the Sovereign Pontiff as to be found worthy to rejoice with thme in the consolations for which we pray, in the charity and peace of the same Christ our Lord. Amen.
Prayer to Mary, Mother of Grace
It becomes you to be mindful of us, as you stand near him who granted you all graces, for you are the Mother of God and our Queen. Help us for the sake of the King, the Lord God and Master who was born of you. For this reason, you are called full of grace. Remember us, most holy Virgin, and bestow on us gifts from the riches of your graces, Virgin full of graces.
St Athanasius, Bishop and Doctor
O God, You have given us the Blessed Virgin Mary that we might venerate her as the Queen of All Saints and the Mother of Fair Love; mercifully grant that under her protection we may love You above all things here on earth and enjoy the happy companionship of all Your Saints in heaven. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.
Since we're most often dealing with intellectual arguments, St. Thomas would be another logical candidate. But what else would you expect me to say?
Anyway, I think even St. Thomas would approve of this nomination ;o)

O God,
You have given us the Blessed Virgin Mary
that we might venerate her
as the Queen of All Saints and the Mother of Fair Love;
mercifully grant that under her protection
we may love You above all things here on earth
and enjoy the happy companionship of all Your Saints in heaven.
Through Christ our Lord. Amen.
She is my wife's patron saint and the constant conduit of my prayers to our Lord.
Excellent choice, Padre.
Ditto. BTTT. V's wife.
"Peace shall return to the world because the Blessed Virgin Mary will breathe over the storms and quell them. Her name will be praised, blessed and exalted forever. Prisoners or captives shall recover their liberty; exiles shall return to their country, and the unfortunate or unhappy shall be restored to peace and hapiness. Between the most august Mary and her clients there will be a mutual exchange of prayers and graces, of love and affection. From the east to the west, from the north to the south, all shall proclaim the holy name of Mary; Mary concieved without original sin, Mary Queen of Heaven and earth. Amen."-Sister Marie Lataste
"We expect that the Immaculate Virgin and Mother of God, Mary, through her powerful intercession, will bring it about that our Holy Mother the Catholic Church, after removal of all obstacles and overcoming all errors, will gain in influence from day to day among all nations and in all places, prosper and rule from ocean to ocean, from the great stream to the ends of the earth; that she will enjoy peace and liberty...that all erring souls will return to the path of truth and justice after the darkness of their minds has been diselled, and that there will be then one fold and one shepherd."-Pope Pius IX
"The Virgin Mother of God invoked by such prayers will obtain from the Divine Savior liberation from present anxieties, the peace of hearts and fraternal concord among peoples."-Pope Pius XII
Excellent choice Father, I guess there could be no other! De Maria Numquam Satis!
"The reading of this book (True Devotion to Mary) was a decisive turning point in my life. I say 'turning-point' but in fact it was a long inner journey...This 'perfect devotion' is indispensable to anyone who means to give himself without reserve to Christ and to the work of redemption. It is from Montfort that I have taken my motto 'Totus tuus' ("I am all thine"). Someday I'll have to tell you Montfortians how I discovered De Montfort's Treatise on True Devotion to Mary, and how often I have to reread it to understand it."-Pope John Paul II
"I heartily recommend True Devotion to The Blessed Virgin, so admirably written by St. Louis De Montfort, and to all who read it grant the Apostolic Benediction."-Pope St. Pius X
Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it known that anyone who fled to thy protection, implored thy help, or sought thy intercession was left unaided. Inspired by this confidence, we fly unto thee, O Virgins of virgins, our Mother. To thee we come, before thee we stand, sinful and sorrowful. O Mother of the Word Incarnate, do not despise our petitions, but in thy mercy hear and answer us. Amen.
