To pro-life; Diago; Dr. Brian Kopp; patent; Askel5 From father_elijah Apr 6 2:29 PM #62 of 62 ^ Please obtain for yourself a copy of The Catechism of the Catholic Church and read it. You will grow immeasurably in your ability to understand the ground and meaning of Catholic faith and practice. You post points up 2 things -- 1) that Protestants cannot refrain from posting something anti-Catholic on a clearly Catholic themed thread; and, 2) that the Protestant view of God is very different from the blessed and Holy Trinity worshipped by Catholics. Our God sits upon the throne of his majesty delighted to be compassed about with his angels and his faithful ones. He is pleased to share with them His Glory and His Spirit, and he thrills to see the members of the Body of His Son calling upon each other and assisting each other. The Church on earth and the Church in paradise are united in this mutual action of care and love which is given its clearest form in prayer for each other. God did not choose to stand alone in a room with nothing and no one in it. Nor did he call for spiritual lone rangers to break out on their own and become their own authority on everything under the sun. He calls us to be the Body of His Son Jesus Christ Our Lord, and when the Body moves together -- how He rejoices. So far from taking anything away from God -- as if that were even possible -- we express our joy and deepest love for God by giving us a family and household of the faith where we learn we are not alone and that we are surrounded on every side by love -- the love in the prayers of the Church on earth and the prayers of the Church in heaven. I don't know how the moderators work and I've never hit the abuse button on anyone though I've wished I could get at them in the flesh, if you know what I mean.
Because Free Republic is a microcosm of our society at large and barely tolerates the Catholic Church as it is ... even out of the public square and off in its own forum.
My guess is that there is not one faithful Catholic moderator among the bunch to help others refrain from their more Subjective "personal opinion" pruning of and editorializing on the forum.
I too failed to see the profanity, the "off-topic" nature of defending Catholics on Catholic thread or perceive even the slightest bit of animosity in the explication of Catholic faith as contrast to Protest-antism.
