At Luke 1:31, the angel tells Mary that she "shall" conceive a child, not that she has conceived a child. Mary is perplexed as to how this is possible because she is a virgin.
Were I to tell my virgin daughter that she would conceive a child in the future, she wouldn't be the slightest bit confused as to how this could occur. It would only be confusing to one who intended to remain a virgin.
At John 19:26-27, Christ, while hanging on the cross directs these words to his mother: Woman, behold thy son!...and directs these words to John: Behold thy mother! No obedient Jew would have delivered over his mother to a stranger for care were there living children and no Jewish children would have failed to care for their mother.
