What is Rotel?

I presumed it was short for "Roach Motel"

Rotel is sorta like salsa. Tomatoes, onions, peppers. We use it here to put in dips, soups, etc. spices things up. I have been shocked to learn that it is not nationally sold. It is stocked by the tomatoe sauses in the grocery stores. Dave even found it on the internet. Good stuff. In soups I run it thru the blender first. Mack is not big on chuncks of tomatoes in things but he likes the taste. You can buy Original, Hot or mild. I use Original.
