Now this was Jesus talking, so this rock was referring to something else. "I don't recall" seeing I am the Rock or Jesus is the Rock. Do you? Let's break down "Sacrament of Reconciliation"... "Sacrament"-An visible sign of God's invisible grace. You could use Process of Reconciliation, Act of Reconciliation, etc.

DON'T GET PICKY ABOUT THE WORD "SACRAMENT!" "Reconciliation"-Please don't ell me because they use repent in the Bible, you can't use its synonym-reconcile. Whatever you consider rock is, I consider it a leader (just an inclination), and in this situation, it sounds like, what was that, do I hear a "Vicar of Christ" (another name for the Pope)? For some reason I could not paragragh where I should.

Picture if you will, the Master pointing to Peter as He said, "You are Peter [a little rock]." Then, as He said "And on this rock I will build My church," He pointed to Himself. Some have even suggested He might have meant the entire group, Himself and the Apostles as the foundation of the church.
