He presents the doctrine of the Trinity: the foreknowledge of God the Father, sanctification of the Spirit, and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ.

Interesting. This could be seen as support for the description of the trinity you gave me several weeks ago -- where it discussed the differences between the persons according to their functions.

I wouldn't see it that way. I would see it as a verification that there is a father, son and holy spirit, it's not describing the nature of the Godhead unless it's being read into it.

1Pe 1:2 Elect according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, through sanctification of the Spirit, unto obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ: Grace unto you, and peace, be multiplied.

Paraphrased, it's saying "Greetings to the elect, whom God foreknew would be elect, whom God set apart by giving the gift of his holy spirit, and who obey Christ and are covered by his blood."

All of these are facts, but it's not a description of the Godhead unless it's presupposed that the Godhead is a trinity of persons in heaven.
