This does not follow from what you are saying. "Mark" says nothing about the virgin birth or Joseph, but he does say that Jesus is the son of Mary. Jesus is certainly the Son of Mary and Joseph. But Mary is not the many things she is ascribed to be.

Orthodox Christianity has never admitted that Jesus is the son of Joseph. He is son of God, son of Mary; true God and true man. Now that is a paradox, like so many things about Jesus. And If what Luke tells us is true, then she is as much above Elizabeth as Jesus is above John.
