Correct me if I'm wrong but, wasn't there a thread where the only non-Mormon posts were quotations from Mormon writings? That thread got pulled, right?

I think it's possible, but most of my understanding comes from scripture so it's hard to have a discussion about their books or traditions...it's the same with Catholic tradition. Still we could discuss the things we have in common and I'm positive it woudldn't get as nasty as we've sometimes seen.

IMO it is not a matter of whether we could debate them, but rather whether they could (or even want to) debate us. If we tried it, we might want to lay down some ground rules first -- specifically, no hitting the abuse button just because you got offended or somebody disagreed with you.
