Isn't this referring to Melchizedek?

Yes but it is paralleling Jesus. I should add a few more comments to clarify. Melchizedek is a type of Christ and in this case Melchizedek's priesthood which is not based on blood but on merrit. Mekchizedek is even more a picture of the Lord in that he has neigher father nor mother nor beginning of days nor end of life. Yet another way that Marianism is completely unraveled by scripture.

Yet another way that Marianism is completely unraveled by scripture. This does not follow from what you are saying. "Mark" says nothing about the virgin birth or Joseph, but he does say that Jesus is the son of Mary.

Can we assume the same about any person mentioned in scripture, if his parentage, birth and/or death are not explicitly noted?
