Yes but it is paralleling Jesus. I should add a few more comments to clarify. Melchizedek is a type of Christ and in this case Melchizedek's priesthood which is not based on blood but on merrit. Mekchizedek is even more a picture of the Lord in that he has neigher father nor mother nor beginning of days nor end of life. Yet another way that Marianism is completely unraveled by scripture.
