Might arise from the simple fact that many Jews even in Palestine-Syria were, like Stephen, Greek-speakers. Who knows but that Our Lord himself knew some Greek since a large Greek town is known to have existed just a few miles from Nazareth.Impossible to know, of course.

Could it be that the "Lingua Franca" of the 1st century was Koine Greek.

Or Perhaps that Koine Greek is very very precise in it's grammar.

Oh well, the Holy spirit chose it for His own reasons.
