Is it more likely that you will get the real truth from another man or directly from an inspired written text? I content it is much more of a likelyhood that you will get man-made doctrines from man and truth from Scripture.

As for your question, no it wouldn't matter to you what source God used to get you the truth. But I think my question is more important in a RC vs NC discussion. But that's just me.

I know you believe that. But no matter how you slice it there is a fallible man in the equation. I don't see why God communicating directly to me is suppposed to automatically be more correct than God communicating to me through other men.

I would rather check what I think Scripture means against what other Christians, past and present think it means. Than the other way around.
