The Neverending Story
An ongoing debate on Scripture, Tradition, History and Interpretation.

Statesmen may plan and speculate for liberty, but it is religion and morality alone which can establish the principles upon which freedom can securely stand. The only foundation of a free constitution is pure virtue. - John Adams

I'm not an historian, but Reggie is a Bill Clinton.

OOOOOOOOOHHH!!!

AnTiLiB, you have just violated the Prime Directive. We're pretty free wheeling with our discussion here. The ONE rule we have all agreed upon is NEVER EVER EVER compare another poster to Bill Clinton. That is the ultimate insult. I know you are a relatively new poster here, so please observe this rule going forward.

According to your profile you are celebrating your one month anniversary on Free Republic today.

Can there be a bigger lie? And I "invent" things? What do you call this? Go, check out my profile...

Yes, and your profile page says your "member since" date is April 7, 2003. A mouseover of your name after your post shows the same thing.

Um... It says April 7th, 2003. I guess "one month and one day" is not "one month", but it's hardly a lie.

Reg made his comment yesterday, so he was exactly correct.

City kids around horses is always interesting. The first time the horse poops they always go into hysterics:) I have done this before for groups. Pray for me:)

Sounds like fun!

Are you going to pick it up for them? ;o)

A few points to make.

First, you seem to be able to use colors and sizes. It is customary to cut-and-paste in italics the text of a person's post to which you are responding. This board moves very fast and referring to something days ago without any reference is like laughing about the movie on the way home. you are more likely to be ignored thatn to have someone bother to go back hundreds of messages to find what you are referring to.

Second, you should take some time to learn the characters. This, and other clues, will likely help you know when someone is joking or being facetious.

Third, simple one-line refutations of people based upon unreferenced facts will not go very far. We have heard just about every argument before, so you have to be prepared to back up what you say.

Welcome and enjoy.

I have to tell them about the different parts of a horse, saddle, and ride for them. Then some of them will probably want to get on. This could be fun:)

Hopefully even "city kids" get the idea that a horse has a head, tail and 4 legs. LOL

It seems Sarah told her first fib the other day. She told her mom that there was an elephant outside. Then when mom went to look out the windows, Sarah started laughing.

She also currently thinks that saying "D'oh!" like Homer Simpson is pretty much the funniest thing on the planet.

Are you getting musical on us Right:)?

I've always been musical. It just doesn't come across well online. (c;

How's your baby? Is she sleeping much at night? Sorry about this, but I can't remember, what did you name her?

Little Katherine Rose is doing just fine. She goes to sleep a tad later than I would prefer (11:30 or so), but I'll usually hold her and let Jen go to bed after 10:30 or so. She sleeps until at least 5:00, but is usually down till almost 7:00. So I guess that qualifies as "sleeping through the night".

Horses off the track are usually not for someone who just wants to amble down a trail. They are also young have NO experience other then track work. Throughbreds are also very flighty, they are very tall which can be intimidating. Yeah a few will be good but the chances are slim. It usually takes experience and a lot of time to train them to be anything other then a "race" horse. Barrell racers sometime buys horses off the track because they have learned to run. JMO, but I don't think this is what Cindy is looking for.

Another good rule is don't fall in love with the horse you buy till after you have had him for 6 months to a yr. Buy them with every intention of selling them if they do not work out. From what I have seen 99% of the horse that people buy the first few times do not work out. But they "love him" and so don't want to sell and try another, so are stuck with this horse that either won't do what they want it to, or are scared of it and won't ride. If you seriously want to ride and enjoy you are best to take a loss and keep trying till find you one that works. That is why it is good to try a horse as long as you can. See if the seller will let you try the horse for 30 days. They probably won't hold it for you but it doesn't hurt to ask.

While typing this post my dog went to barking like crazy and ran out the door, when I got up to see what was going on there was a coyote chasing my chickens across the yard, by the time I turned to get Mack and go back out he had one in his mouth and carried it off. Darn.

Oh. And my boys have taken up riding. They can't wait to go down to my parents house on the lake and see "Chuckles".

Thomas didn't let go of his "riding instructor" the first time, but loves it now.

I was being slightly facetious. Thoroughbreds are crazy, like the royal family or any other inbreds. Plus you never know how much attention is needed to keep their legs in action.

On the other hand, she could let the grandkids ride him during the week, and make some money off him on the weekend. LOL

Right! "Satan" is not a problem... "Heretic" or "Heathen" can be a compliment from some...

But the "C" word is below the belt.

No pun intended. (c:

Oh, OK, sorry.

Alot of people though get suckered into buying race horses, because sometimes just to get rid of one that doesn't work on the track they sell them pretty cheap.

There's nothing to apologize for. I gave no indication that I wasn't serious.

Did you ever see the episode of Taxi where Jim wins a bunch of money at the track and buys a gamey old horse to "give him his freedom" in the middle of New York City?

Pity, it was a great series and very funny episode. Jim tells of taking his horse for a walk in Central Park:

"Those poodle people don't act like they own the place anymore."

Later, after "Gary's" death, Jim laments:

"This apartment sure seems empty without that horse."
