The Neverending Story
An ongoing debate on Scripture, Tradition, History and Interpretation.

Statesmen may plan and speculate for liberty, but it is religion and morality alone which can establish the principles upon which freedom can securely stand. The only foundation of a free constitution is pure virtue. - John Adams

Speaking of sports, can anyone stop those Mighty Ducks?

Ottawa or New Jersey. The Cup's coming back east.

NO! In some cases it may, in others, absolutely not.

I agree. Some people may be able to take suffering and use it as a way to grow closer to God. Others just suffer. There is suffering because we live in a fallen world. The solution to suffering is not to embrace it, but rather to work with God in tikkun olam, repairing the world.

They're pretty good. Hey Minnesota being down 3-1 in the series beat vancouver 7-2 last night. The Avs had a 3-1 series lead on them too. Perhaps the 6th and 7th seeds will pair up in the Conference finals. Glad to see you finally taking some interest in Hockey. :-)

Hey the ducks just might do it. They have some eastern players now. Peter Sokorra and Adam Oates.

Definitely in his 60s. I know a security clearance doesn't mean brilliance, but the work he does for govt and NASA sounds pretty impressive.

Speaking of coveting :) any of you guys millionaire's, and has anybody read the book the Millionaire Next Door? If so and you pratice the methods in the book do you consider this coveting?

(Man introducing his wife at a dinner party) This is the little lady who made me a millionaire.

I used to be a multi-millionaire.

I don't fit into the millionaire category, and I haven't read the book. I did see a book at Barnes & Noble a few weeks ago, though, that made me think of you.

Hey Mack, you missed it. :-)

100 Show up For San Francisco 'Masturbate-a-Thon'

SAN FRANCISCO - More than 100 men and women gathered in famously liberal San Francisco this weekend for what organizers said was the city's second annual public ''Masturbate-a-Thon.''

Organizers said they have taken the event ``from the sheets to the streets,'' offering volunteers -- 18 years or older -- the opportunity to overcome their inhibitions in ``a safe environment'' and raise money for charity.

Horace Santry, 55, said the Friday night event was his first. ``I have a lot of anxiety, but doing this among a group of like-minded people does make it easier,'' he said.

Don't underestimate the Ducks. They really turned things around in the latter part of the season and with some key trades made major improvements to the team. They move the puck well and rarely turn it over.

Now see what you've started Doug?

BTW Dave, why did you take exception with me when I posted what you said? I was supposed to know what you meant!

(The point of whether life insurance is a "Gamble" or nto is beside the point. That was my interpretatino of the fact. But the definition I used was inded that Doug used. I am not a liar.)

You've got to admit the efficacy of animal sacrifice really took a nose dive compared to the God-man.

You missed my entire point. Sacrifice is not efficacious. It is symbolic of repentance. If there is no repentance, then sacrifice is an abomination.

The guy at the seminar made a pretty convincingly argument that YHWH of the OT is Yeshua.

What's to argue? If you are a Christian, you have to believe this, don't you?

Ok. Uncle. I did say "IF it turns out" that way. Obviously it didn't. :-) Either way, I'm convinced He's the son of David.

Fair 'nuff.

Do you save any money or invest at all?

You would be supprised to know what a little invested now would grow into in 30 years.

Actually, I spend it supporting my wife and kids. I do have a retirement account I started when I was 27, but I haven't contributed in a while (but that's about to change). It's growing, but it could grow more if started contributing again.

You would be supprised to know what a little invested now would grow into in 30 years.

Not surprised at all. But with the costs of supporting a family right now, it's not high on my priority list at this time. My current account is growing, but I'd like to start adding to it again. I'm also going to get more aggressive with it since stocks are at a low and have been for some time.
