I was a Catholic until I read the Bible, and that was the end of that there. What pushed you over the edge?

"You and Becky," that is.

I realized I did not agree with Historical Theological Catholisism.

"I am of no denomination really. I was a Catholic until I read the Bible, and that was the end of that there. LOL"Hey. You stole my testimony. :-)
To: Segale2001
C'mon now, be specific. What was the moment that you read something and said "this is just completly the
opposite of what I was taught?"
We'd have no fun around here with generalities. LOL

Please tell me that you fell asleep, not that you got caught up in the drama. ;o) The drama of course! Would Tommy Gunn go with the arrogant promoter or stick with Rocky? Would Rocky's son ever respect him again? I never did get to finish it so these questions are still unanswered.
To: Invincibly Ignorant
Yeah well, it really was no testimony. It was just the convictions of the Holy pirit as I read the word.

So Dave is asking us to believe that a pedophile priest who engages in that heinous practice over decades doesn't do so by "conscious design". Do you believe a young man thinks to himself, "I'm going to spend the next 40 years molesting children and attempting to hide my shame"?

We can judge a person by the acts that he has committed and come to the judgement that he pretty much is not saved, but we can't be sure, only he and God knows for sure. But at the same time kick his butt out from serving and fellowship until he repents and pays the price for his actions.

Well, lets start out with the fact that I most agree with Pentacostal views. Many of which are contry to the Catholic "Oppression" or Church. Depends on your view.

But at the same time kick his butt out from serving and fellowship until he repents and pays the price for his actions. I agree completely. Ipev has gone farther, claiming to know for a fact that such a man is "reprobate" and that he has no faith. I keep trying to tell him that that decision is not ours to make.

Oh, and who told you to start reading the Bible and did anyone help you understand what was being said?

Sorry to hear that. Take it easy, and heal quickly! :o)
Thanks. I'm pretty certain it will. It isn't a full tear, which would be major, it is
only a partial tear. (Bad enough for me).
As I have said previously I have a balance disorder which causes me some difficulty. I was in rehab, again for this and was making progress until I stepped on some wet leaves and fell. I took the entire fall on the heel of my left hand and it "irritated" my previously torn rotator cuff.
Actually, I am pretty used to this kind of "accident" and am very familiar with the drill.

Reggie, you're going to need to decide if your overriding theme is going to be the defense of what is true and right, or just picking on anything I say and then claiming non-involvement with those mischaracterizing me.
You want me to be fair, right? That would cause me to do research on your "mischaracterization" posts. I dread the thought. I'm way behind as it is. I think I'll pass.
