The Neverending Story
An ongoing debate on Scripture, Tradition, History and Interpretation.
Statesmen may plan and speculate for liberty, but it is religion and morality alone which can establish the principles upon which freedom can securely stand. The only foundation of a free constitution is pure virtue. - John Adams |

I assume that you discard the Apocrypha. But of course you have to. Because it shows that from the time that Alexander came, the Jews were caught up in the Hellinistic enterprise. The New Testament is the culimation of the blending of the two cultures. You are a disciple of Jerome, everything except the monkish thing. You are a disciple of Diana of the Ephesians. Everything but the virgin thing.

They have never died except to sin.1st and 2nd death. Scripture. Deal with it.

I assume that you discard the Apocrypha.Yup. Just like you disgard the OT and view the entire Bible as a smorgassboard take what ya like and throw the rest out.

"A Pope is infallible when teaching on matters of faith and morals". Right?"A Pope cannot then be guilty of heresy". Right?
"Pope" Honorius was convicted of heresy and anathematized by the 6th Ecumenical Council. Right?
Honorius either wasn't a Pope or the Pope is not infallible when teaching on matters of faith or morals. Right?
The last time I checked, Peter denied being a disciple of Jesus three times, right?
I guess we're all human, right?
Jimmy Swaggert and Jimmy Baker were perfect in all ways, right? (Maybe you became a fundamentalist after that incident, if you need, which you do, more information, just ask)
Humanity alone cannot avoid sin, right?
It takes God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit (or whatever you want to call what came at the Pentecost), right?
Were these not my words-"...infallibility does not mean absent from sin, or somehow supernatural."
Was Honorius preaching from the "Chair of Peter?"

Jimmy Swaggert and Jimmy Baker were perfect in all ways, right? No more perfect than Edward Kennedy and Gray Davis.

Chrismas trees, presents, santa claus, packed malls, easter bunny, easter egg hunts...........Have you ever looked into becoming a catholic? :-)

I would say the very existence of the Gospels is a commendation to meditate on their contents. You could do worse than to meditate, as we do, on the birth, life, ministry and passion of Jesus.

then you will know how G-d wants you to meditate and on what topics to meditate.
Galatians 3:11 Clearly no-one is justified before God by the law, because,
"The righteous will live by faith." [Hab. 2:4]

Have you ever looked into becoming a catholicNo, I would ask too many questions and try to change things and get kicked out, but I do like my new cousins that I didn't even know I had until I started posting here. I guess right now you could say that I'm spirtually homeless . Mack says I'm not a protestant anymore :'(

I see "Saint" Teresa of Avila, when did Ignatius and Francis get demotions? :-)
Sounds like an awfully Catholic perspective... you switch teams while I was away? Now I may have to switch.

I think I said that someone had recommended the book to me.
I find the book full of cult ideas like Positive Mental imaging.
"Think and you can make it come true"
I believe that if I Praise and Worship at the Throne of G-d and
put my trust and faith in Y'shua,
The L-rd will protect me from all the Cults and from the Evil One.
Psalm 18:30 As for God, his way is perfect; the Word of the LORD is
flawless. He is a shield for all who take refuge in him.
Psalm 18:31 For who is God besides the LORD? And who is the Rock except our God?

To: Invincibly Ignorant
Glad you got saved cuz. Seems like a lot of you guys used to be catholic. I guess that explains why yall can debate them so well.

Mack says I'm not a protestant anymore :'(What does he know?
To: CindyDawg
I guess that explains why yall can debate them so well.Ya but they don't listen. Wasn't until someone presented to me from the heart the story of Jesus without all the clutter and added silliness that I was able to grasp it.
To: Invincibly Ignorant
Oh, I don't know about that. They hear you. I think some of them are listening, reading their bibles, and thinking about posts here. Lot's of loyalty and years of tradition there, though. Besides several, have protestant wives who they probably discuss with too. Right, catholic cousins?
