The Neverending Story
An ongoing debate on Scripture, Tradition, History and Interpretation.

Statesmen may plan and speculate for liberty, but it is religion and morality alone which can establish the principles upon which freedom can securely stand. The only foundation of a free constitution is pure virtue. - John Adams

What do you make of this?
And it shall come to pass that all who call upon the name of YHWH shall be delivered. (Joel 2:32)
Exactly what it says ... that all who call upon the One True God shall be saved.

God does not ignore those who call upon Him.

If you call upon Him ... He shall deliver you.

Take note that He may have opted to accomplish this through JESUS.

I can remember when a Vidalia could be enjoyed like an apple. But, not in recent memory.

Me too. Ever try a Whala Whala? Are they any good?

Please forgive the multiple postings. Something's not quite right from my end, I think.

The truth is that Jesus' entire life, his teachings, miracles, even his death and resurrection, were all explanations and clarifications of God's Holy Name YHWH.

Then, it seems to me, one who calls upon the Name of YHWH, is calling upon Jesus, his life, teachings, miracles, death and resurrection, even if he doesn't realize it. Just as those who lived before Jesus looked to YHWH for the messiah and salvation, not knowing it was Jesus they were hoping for.

Heheh... I wasn't able to locate kosher wine locally, and I didn't have time to order some or take a trip to Milwaukee, so I had to settle for plain ol' kosher grape juice.

No, you should realize by now, you now have the rest of the story, the fulfillment of the whole, and now its your choice to accept or reject the truth.

"Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man comes to the Father, but by Me." (John 14:6)

"Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is no other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved." (Acts 4:12)

"Jesus said, I am the resurrection and the life: he that believes in Me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: and whoever lives and believes in Me shall never die. Do you believe this?" (John 11:25, 26)

"For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus." (l Timothy 2:5)

Mogan David is Kosher as well.

The drunkest I ever got was on Mogan David grape wine, me and some friends were tired of going into town and getting into fights (grew up in creek county, ruff place) so we said hey lets go to the drive in and take some wine and get quietly drunk and watch the show, 3 of us 2 qts each, I had never drank it before, it tasted like grape juice with a twang, went down smooth, well 6 empty bottles later, two of us said, where’s Ricky, and about that time we heard from the conession stand some one scream "Oh you broke my nose" we found Ricky :) Drunk bruised up and couldn't drive after we got kicked out of the show, we drove across the street and passed out until morning, and oh what a hangover, :)

In my years of studying fundamentalism, necromancy is a new word. I know the Bible states that dead have no power in the world after they die. But they can pray to God for the people on earth.

What the dead in heaven may or may not do is not our affair. We have no basis on which to say they can do this thing or that in heaven. We do know from scripture what they may do here - nothing. listening to you would be included in that as that would be interacting with the living here. So praying to the dead is worthless for gain and harmful to the soul as it is sin. Remember, Saul was put to death for seeking favors of the dead. And one wonders if Jesus taught us how to pray, and advised there is but one way to God, why so many seem so desperate to find another way that is disallowed.

The atmosphere is not a perfume—it has no taste of the distillation—it is odorless;
It is for my mouth forever—I am in love with it;
I will go to the bank by the wood, and become undisguised and naked;
I am mad for it to be in contact with me.

I wonder if Walt had a pond.

Long have you timidly waded, holding a plank by the shore;
Now I will you to be a bold swimmer,
To jump off in the midst of the sea, rise again, nod to me, shout, and laughingly dash with your hair.

I'm guessing "yes". ;o)

Hey if you were born 30 years earlier you could have been Maynard G. Crebbs on Doby Gillis.

I just don't see the passages you cite as being incompatible with, or mutually exclusive of, what I said.
