But...but...that FULL OF GRACE can't mean the same as the OTHER FULL OF GRACE, for it was not speaking of the one we pray to.

Wrong. They mean exactly the same thing. One day you might seriously study this mysterious religion that you mock.

Another news flash: you can indeed pray to St. Stephen as well.

Sometimes you crack a joke and wonder if you'd have got a better response if you'd told it to the Dustin Hoffman character in Rainman.

It is closer to the following when translated from Koine Greek to English

That is your opinion. Regardless, what is the "highest favor" that a God could bestow upon a woman?

Salvation.

It depends on what you mean by "leave." If by "leave" you mena become convinced that everyone in your family is going to hell because of their faith, and that they require you to preach to them the true gospel whenever you see them, yes that could cause problems.

I'm sure they'd require an explanation. So what if you just left and didn't feel the need to preach?

Mack, it's not a joke when you get it 100 per cent wrong.

Do you know for a fact Stephen wasn't alive when Jesus gave us atonement?

What are you talking about?

You just told me on the last page how wonderful it was that Mary was "full of grace" before she was even born. So I guess that means Stephen was too.

Mary was the first to be saved.

Stephen is full of grace, that doesn't mean he was the first to be saved.

It's about time a bishop started doing this. Hey, Reg ... ask the bishops in Mass to do this starting with the Kennedys.

Mary was the first to be saved.

Mary wasn't the first to be saved anyway. First of all that's not in scripture. Secondly, Enoch was the first. "He walked with God and was not for God took him".

Personally, I don't think my parents would make a big deal about it. They would probably want to know the whys and hows.

No, once again I'm not sure you are trying to follow. Mary is full of grace before Christ was even born. This we know because the angel said so.

Stephen is given no such treatment in Scripture or tradition. We are not told that he was full of grace before Christ was born.

rather he became a believer, and like all believers, was filled with grace.

End of story.

Stephen is full of grace, that doesn't mean he was the first to be saved.

No, it doesn't. I'm glad you agree.

You are correct. the Bible evidence only tells us that Mary was full of grace before Christ was born. It des not tell us anyone else was or was not similarly saved. We can assume that St. Krusty, who we've never heard of, was also saved before Christ was born and was in fact the first person saved.

But baring any evidence of that, and considering that it is fitting that Jesus' mother is saved first, we will go with that tradition.

Now, who in the Bible is saved before Mary?

And who would be a better person for Jesus to choose to save first?

Secondly, Enoch was the first. "He walked with God and was not for God took him".

Huh? Where is this passage? How does "God took him" mean that he was "saved?"

Are you postulating that prior to the Death of Jesus anyone entered Heaven?

XS>The difference for me is that Easter is defined by man at a council and Passover is defined by G-d in His Word.

SD>Point understood. It's that "authority" question again. I don't know what any Protestant would follow the Church calendar, except because of "tradition"

Oh! Dave

I thought the comity would last.

XS>Lk. 1:28 The angel went to her and said, “Greetings, you who are highly favoured! The Lord is with you.”

SD>That is your opinion. Regardless, what is the "highest favor" that a God could bestow upon a woman?

Salvation.

Yes I am. Moses and Elijah even visited Jesus while he was on earth.

Genesis 5:21 And Enoch lived sixty and five years, and begat Methuselah:
22 And Enoch walked with God after he begat Methuselah three hundred years, and begat sons and daughters:
23 And all the days of Enoch were three hundred sixty and five years:

Guess that means she was saved before Christ was born. So it wouldn't be too hard to believe that Enoch, Moses and Elijah were too.
