you let the snake out of the bag on that one!
If, as many people have told me, "God" is an all-powerful, all-knowing entity whose motives we must not question, and whose very existence humans are pitifully ill-equipped to comprehend, then each person who believes in that entity must do so on his or her own terms. Since the whole of this entity is beyond the abilities of mere mortal man, the concept must be simplified, watered down, and broken up into easily digestible chunks, from which one must pick and choose those bits that one can handle.
If there is no such entity, then by definition the concept of a god must be individually constructed and maintained. What, for example, are the defining characteristics of a dragon? Everyone knows what a dragon is. Everyone knows approximately how they are put together. And everyone is going to give you slightly (or in some cases-- the Chinese come to mind-- drastically) different versions of how dragons look and behave.
That being said, precisely which species of snake are you talking about, and how did it evolve, and can I have my bag back when you are done with it?
The bag your brain is gone/empty as far as reality is concerned!

Speak for yourself--friends--your philosophy-religion on that one---"ill-equipped"--you!
