You know that’s not what I mean.
I get the eugenics side though but is this an absolute no?
Hell no? Marge Sanger/Mengele no?
In my opinion the underlying problem is people are waiting too long to be married and them waiting further to have kids. The fertility industry pushes the delay as well. Delaying married means pre-marital sex. Young females are focused on their future jobs (called careers) and pursue degrees and have expectations about what husband they have “earned”. The top males focus on sex with as many women as possible while the remainder settle for porn. Many of the females are unhappy settling and makes for many unhappy marriages. God is not pleased.
You won't need no husband, won't need no wife
You'll pick your son, pick your daughter too.

God’s provision for barren parents are orphans and foster children. Everyone isn’t guaranteed the full birth and cute baby experience.
Blood transfusions and properly sourced stem cell treatments don’t create lives to be thrown away. A necessary C-section saves lives, how is there even a question about such a thing?
Barreness is not an emergency medical situation nor is it a death sentence.
All my favorite feel good (or “feel better” after-Democrats-try-to -ruin-your -day) youtube video clips online are of adopted newborns… or children :). SOOOO cute and touching. And there are foster story testimonies that are just absolutely amazing & powerful as well.
As well as *biological* parents giving birth to babies with disabilities and other physical challenges. Also very moving, and sobering as well.
Because i never knew the process. The hell you self righteous prigs tossing monkey sh*t but thanks for the education.
Let em all burn in hell right? No absolution. Just end it
Very courageous of the SBC, especially in the present political climate.
Good summation.
When I learned that the IVF process involved conceiving and then throwing away the extra embryos, that’s when I knew, no matter how glorious it is for the families and their successfully born children, that there was an evil side to the process in which life is cheapened for the throw-away babies.
I certainly don’t condemn those who are desperate for children, but giving birth or finding a surrogate isn’t necessary in order to bring children into the family.
“We are either people at conception or we aren’t.”
Our pastor did a sermon on this subject (abortion, IVF, etc.). Christianity is the only religion that is in agreement that the spirit/soul is there at the beginning of life (conceptions). I read up on it further and Islam it is at 40 days or something. IIRC I read where some Jews say it is around 20 days, and I think some say also at conception.
He said the idea of IVF itself he didn’t have a problem with, and that the Bible didn’t seem to have any problem with it either. The problem, as others have mentioned, is the slew of other lives/souls that are put on ice and will be tossed away at some point perhaps.

I didn’t know any of this. Thanks to all educating me. I just can’t wrap my brain around this right now.
Yea I agree with your pastor. The problem and it is terrible is that many newly conceived babies are killed in the process.
The cognitive dissonance of couples wanting a baby so badly yet killing so many can not be resolved.
I have no idea how the process is done. I guess it is too expensive to do IVF with just one egg? They probably do a bunch at the same time in case one isn’t viable??
Oh - I think our pastor also brought up that when you have a bunch of fertilized eggs then one could “pick and choose” the one with the best test (DNA, etc.) results. Which is wrong.
Yes, and the picking and choosing results in deliberate destruction, discard, or seemingly permanent freezing of the unwanted ones.
Thanks. I didn’t know about the process much. Learned a lot the last 24 hrs.
I can’t imagine the expense and probably no insurance covers such a process? Learning about the morality is an eyeopener.
