Hundred thousand burned? Hah! You wish. The figures I've seen..and based on ACTUAL trial counts mind you... are a few thousand *across Europe over 500 years*. The death penalty was only recommended in 2-3% of cases.

A counting error I can understand and wouldn't quibble about...but when you folks start breathlessly concocting genocides several orders of magnitude beyond what historically happened, yeah, you're darn right we are going to call you on your BS.

You all don't seem to understand that your disinterest in and utter incompetence with the medieval sources means you are subject to being bamboozled and led by the nose by the worst 19th century polemicists.

As seen earlier in the thread (see reply #18), pointing out the historical errors of the sources cited (even if they're anti-Christian in general, not just anti-Catholic) is blithely called "attacking the messenger", as though that's all it takes to make a rebuttal.

Actual accuracy (much less truth) is not the point, so long as it attacks anything vaguely affiliated with 'popery'.
