I see plenty of good in it. The scripture is plenty good all by itself; but I am liking the pieces that give a plausible motivation for some of the apostles.
I am an inveterate discerner, and I’ve seen nothing yet to cause me to denigrate this series.
Question - why is that needed, or appropriate?
“I am an inveterate discerner”
I too see the spirit in these stories. Jesus spoke in parables all the time that were not from the old testament scripture of his day. That must have infuriated the contemporary temple priests when they saw people flocking to hear him speak. The stories he told did not speak to everyone, especially them.
There are some who are trying to match Jenkins up with king james the first that have swallowed the camel. I love the new king james version of the bible, the language speaks to me, but it does not speak to everyone. It’s become a shibboleth, you will know them by their fruits. And it’s interesting to observe the human condition as we repeat history over and over.
Look, Jesus comes to the door. It’s closed.
Again.
what they are portraying is completely unbiblical.
