These are all bishops who preside over dioceses that are kept artificially alive by state church taxes. Without this money, these dioceses would collapse within weeks because the faith is utterly eroded, especially among the bishops and the priests who are worldly and secularised. Finally, someone said it! Nobody should follow the German bishops; they all preside over churches that don't have to be responsive to the laity because the government foots the bill ... a horrible system, IMO.
