I happen to agree with you, but it does weigh in as a factor, especially if one does not ascribe to Sola Scriptura, which itself is not attested to in Scripture. If one comes up with a novel doctrine that has never been embraced for the first 1600 years of Christianity, one must read extremely lightly and be sure that one is not following a different spirit than the one that has led all other Christians up to that time.
2 Corinthians 11:3-5
Actually I have for the last 45 years or so, otherwise I would not presume to speak on it. All I'm saying is it presumptuous to condemn others who do not accept your interpretation of Scripture. Is that so hard to accept?
Just because Catholicism and its offshoots don’t believe it, doesn’t make it false.
I never said it did, only that in my opinion the biblical and historical positions weigh against it.
All of what people call “dispensationalism” is in the Bible.
Period.
Darby is not necessary to this view.
I have read the Bible cover to cover several times and a plain sense reading of Scripture, while paying attention to literary genre, yields the basic futurist premillennialist view.
All the right pieces are on the chess board.
The only thing we don’t when are the smaller details of the chess match, but the chess pieces are there, the board is the right size and shape.
From my experience here and other places, that is usually the response that's given. Some of the responses on his thread prove my point.
And what's a *Rapturist*? I tried googling the term up and it doesn't appear to exist outside of your fabrication of it.
You should refine your research skills. Here's just one:
“The Chessboard “ analogy-—
Very Interesting.
That’s what it is!
Thanks.
Wrong.
Jesus appealed only to Scripture in His dealings with the Pharisees, during His temptation in the wilderness, and on the Road to Emmaus when He expounded about Himself to the disciples.
Acts 17:11Now these Jews were more noble than those in Thessalonica; they received the word with all eagerness, examining the Scriptures daily to see if these things were so.
People were commended by God for using Scripture to verify Paul's message.
There is no other source of Truth but God's word. Everything needs to be measured against that to verify.
Oh wow. The shortest Wikipedia topic I have ever seen.
Did you just put that up?
Another poster put up maybe twenty verses
Containing ‘It Is Written...’
Even I was shocked !
Jesus in his “Lazarus and the Rich man’ said ; “If they don’t believe Moses and the Prophets they won’t believe a man Risen from the Dead”
Some folks are So beheld by TRADITION
They will argue against the TRUTH.
Excellent verse about Lazarus and the rich man.
Good point.
Yeah, why go with man’s additions to Scripture when we have the God breathed, Holy Spirit inspired Truth, stated in the Word of God itself?
And that’s not enough?????
Funny, I find Scripture to contain more than enough for a lifetime of study and application.
I wonder what the premillennial-denialists think about all the words of the prophets and Jesus concerning it? Did they just say it all in jest? Are they all just allegorical? If allegory, then where do you ever draw the line between what is true prophecy and allegory? How can anyone know what is to come or be able to "watch and pray"? How can the promises of Almighty God be trusted if no one knows what His promises really are?
I will trust in what God has said and rest in His precious promises because He has told us things before they happen so that when they DO happen, we will know He is the TRUE God. He doesn't play games!
Exactly 💯
.
I see The New Jerusalem descending from the clouds with the Throne of King David and the Lamb of GOD who was Slain and Arose again for the Sins of the World an He stood as King of the Universe with Pierced Hands outstretched saying
‘Welcome Friend!’.
The simple answer is that they don’t believe their Bibles, or Jesus’s Words, or the Words of the Prophets.
Jesus berated the Pharisees for holding onto their traditions more than Scripture and Prophecy. Mark 7:1-13 is a perfect example of this.
Cults, Catholics, and other strange pseudo-Christians believe all sorts of bizarre and superstitious things.
They add to God’s Word - they even admit that they do and they will pummel you heavily if you try to steer them back to Scripture.
I imagine all of them are in for a good horse-whipping from The Lord on Judgement Day. How many vulnerable, lazy, cowardly, and weak people did they help drag to hell because they couldn’t find the courage to read the entire Council of God?
👍
Amen!
God Bless!
“There is no other source of Truth but God’s word. Everything needs to be measured against that to verify.”
Unless your prone to quote Augustine, Pius IX, or Joan of Arc and consider that “Holy Spirit inspired”?
God made several covenants;
Adam and Eve
Noah
Abraham
Moses
King David’s Throne,my Favorite.
Jesus ‘I will Never leave nor Forsake you’ ‘
Your right- Let God Be God !
Look who's talking:
22 When he had said this, he breathed on them; and he said to them: Receive ye the Holy Ghost. 23 Whose sins you shall forgive, they are forgiven them; and whose sins you shall retain, they are retained.
Preach It!
.
Do what we can and hope the Holy Spirit
Brings them to the TRUTH.
.
IT’S There in Black and White.
Look who’s talking
