Born-Again zealots always make sure that Jesus Crucified is not on the Cross

SA: Only One was resurrected. That Resurrection is what we celebrate--not the crucifixion.

At the end of His Passion, Jesus cried *It is finished* and gave up the ghost.

He was then taken down and buried and rose again.

1 Corinthians 15:14-23 And if Christ has not been raised, then our preaching is in vain and your faith is in vain. We are even found to be misrepresenting God, because we testified about God that he raised Christ, whom he did not raise if it is true that the dead are not raised. For if the dead are not raised, not even Christ has been raised. And if Christ has not been raised, your faith is futile and you are still in your sins. Then those also who have fallen asleep in Christ have perished. 19 If in Christ we have hope in this life only, we are of all people most to be pitied.

But in fact Christ has been raised from the dead, the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep. For as by a man came death, by a man has come also the resurrection of the dead. For as in Adam all die, so also in Christ shall all be made alive. But each in his own order: Christ the firstfruits, then at his coming those who belong to Christ.

And Christ is not eternally hanging on the cross, perpetually dying. He rose and is now seated at the right hand of the Father.

He doesn't belong on the cross and keeping Him there denies His death and resurrection and the work of redemption that He said was finished. Keeping Him on the cross says that His atonement is not finished.

Also, suffering does not cleanse from sin and Jesus's suffering is not redemptive. His death/finished work, past tense, is and the proof of that is the resurrection.

Just a 'personal' observation. Much of the Catholic vs Protestant discussion (if you want to call it that) on FreeRepublic is conflation of doctrine(s) and/or omitting doctrine(s) to support an argument. I've been guilty of this. I believe this is done either intentionally or ignorantly to win an argument. While Muslims are cutting Christian (Catholic and Protestant) heads off and the demon possessed and Marxists are mutilating our children, Christians on FR argue among themselves. Satan loves this.

You say Catholics believe Jesus is perpetually dying on the cross. The Catholic church as well as other Christian churches understand that God and heaven are outside of time and space as we understand it. The Mass is a 'representation' of the crucifiction. - re: https://www.ncregister.com/blog/is-jesus-re-sacrificed-at-every-mass

The sins of man, past, present and future were laid on Jesus (His body and soul) for our redemption. If we believe this then it stands to reason that the crucifixion is a sacrifice that incudes priest and victim, which spans eternity.

"He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, that we might die to sin and live to righteousness. By his wounds you have been healed." - 1 Peter 2:24

No cross/crucifiction - no salvation!

I've said in past posts - Christians are to celebrate Christ's life, death and resurrection.
