YMMV
Thank you. I will listen. I do like David Jeremiah..
shoudl read his sermon on Saddam and Babylon/king nebucadnezzar (sp?)
Saddam thought he was a reincarnation of the king Neb- Saddam was in the process of rebuilding babylon-
Yes, Saddam Hussein definitely thought he was a latter days Nebuchadnezzar
[Nebuchadnezzar]
Probably difficult to get that to fit on a bowling shirt.
Or a football jersey.
Saddam had started rebuilding a former world wonder, the hanging gardens of babylon- I guess it was really a stunning display, not sure how far Saddam got- but he sunk a lot of $$ into it-
Definitely would have had some historical value BUT I don’t think I would have wanted to visit (though it would be quite fascinating)
bkmk. Will review.
Cheers, ‘Pod.
While this may be true, the Greek historian Herodotus, in the 5th Century B.C., had written of a "district of Syria, called Palaistinê" that was located between Phoenicia and Egypt.
That is to say, the notion that the name "Palestine" was assigned to the region only after the Bar Kokhba revolt in the 2nd Century A.D. is not accurate. The name goes back much further than that.
Bump
But for areas that were traditionally Judea and Samaria?
IIRC that’s what Dave was saying a long time ago
There is money to be made in the end-times info business. You can go to an ‘Israel Summit’ being held in Nashville (near the airport I think). Supposed to be several experts on Israel there speaking, May 20-22. My nearest neighbors are going. ‘Only’ $260 per person for the 2 1/2 days (hotel not included).
They are also selling booth space at that location. $$$!!
My wife and I already believe there is ample proof of end-times. No need to pay to hear more.
Yes, that I believe is the implication. From what I otherwise understand, the assertion that the Romans had "renamed" the region "Palestine," following the Bar Kokhba rebellion, as a "punitive" measure (i.e., in order to further humiliate the Judean inhabitants) is not universally accepted among historians and scholars. Although, again, it is something that is often heard. It may be true, but it is not something free from doubt as a historical proposition.

I have a great deal of respect for Dave Hunt and his work. I've read several of his books, and my wife and I have watched various of his video presentations from past years. A man with a true heart for Jesus. But, in my experience, almost every evangelical expositor will, from time to time, pass along as something said to be true, things that they have received but which they themselves have not closely examined. Sometimes those things don't hold to scrutiny. I think we all manifest that failing from time to time.
In my case, I would wish to have the same sort of love of the Lord that Hunt displayed.
Great video. I really enjoy listening to David Jeremiah. He really helps my understanding of some of the most difficult issues in the Bible.
Yikes
It should be a reasonable fee (there are costs involved, granted)
And there should be free events
I can see why else some might do such - just to minimize troublemakers who don’t want to make that kind of investment
Great! Glad you enjoyed it.
Thanks for visiting and bumping the thread.
God bless
Dave was awesome
Does it say anywhere in those writings if the Temple actually stood on what is referred to as the Temple Mount? I’m of the opinion that the Temple was located to the south of that construct, and that the Romans did as Jesus predicted in that it was completely destroyed, and the land plowed under so that no one would know the Temple was even there, according to Josephus (I think).
I got that video bookmarked to watch later. Thanks Ferris!
