I had no idea it was going on that long. I noticed the last ten years there was a serge in female baptist pastors but that may be just the Christian news services reporting on it, I’m not sure.

There HAS NOT been a surge in female Baptist pastors. It has not been a thing in the SBC. Last year we saw Rick Warren come out for them and the SBC slapped him.

Yeah....the conservative movement began in the late 70s with a move to re-establish control of the seminaries. Which sadly, had become very liberal.

IIRC professors had to affirm certain principles/beliefs to remain employed. One of these was rejecting homosexuality....that wiped out a number of them.

There were many who didn't like the conservative resurgence....but it was necessary.

And from what I read in various articles and such, it may be necessary again.
